My sister and I cared for mum in her own home for the last ten years, going every day. Mum had been diagnosed with vascular dementia. This song is more about what I could see coming, the bad days, as at this time mum was still more lucid than not. Daphne Gennery passed away peacefully on the 30th of August 2025 at the age of 95, in her own home, in her own bed.....something that she always wanted....no hospital or care home.

I took an old demo I recorded and tinkered with it in some apps to see what I could come up with. I dare say this is a bit of silly fun, lol.

This song began its life in Poland, where our resident surf rock specialist, Artur, composed it on his giutar. He is a brilliant composer and expert player, so we're always glad to receive music from him.

Artur gave it to JJ to start the project, so JJ was first to the trough here, adding his breathy, moving organ and envelope synth throughout. Ken came along shorly after to give the song its heartbeat, adding his triumphant drums. As soon as he had a beat to play to, Josh added his four string fretless bass to the mix, completing the rhythm section.

Now it was the other guitarists turn to take a whack at it. Tez was first up, adding the magical the first and third solos, in the verse sections. He also lit up the intro and outro sections with some dynamic guitar solos, as well. Stephen went last, filling in the second and fourth solo sections in the choruses, as well as a textural guitar that you hear through most of the song. He also added the exotic sitar you hear in about the middle.

Once we had it in the bag, we asked Stephen to produce it for us, which he did in his always trained, professional manner.

This is the eighth song we've done with Artur over the past about year and a half. We adore his music and him as a person, too. If you dig this song, you should hop over to his page and have a listen in case you're not already familiar. He loves surf music, and wanted to note the passing of surf rock legend, Brian Wilson this week. Wilson was more than just Pet Sounds, although that album is top class. He was a surf rock pioneer, who influenced a whole genre of music; a genre that's near and dear to Artur's heart.

We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I had the very good fortune to connect with Andy H aka “Noobly” a few months ago over music that we mutually admired and we agreed to find a future opportunity to collaborate. This is the result. Noobly’s beautifully rich track, propelled by his soaring guitar work, felt like a kind of call to prayer to my ear. I tried to echo this somewhat in singing the bridge. Lyrically, just for kicks I used the Socratic Method to construct the verses (persuasion through Q&A) so that this song’s meaning becomes self-evident and hopefully more of a personal experience for each listener. This year is the 50th anniversary of the ABC Movie of the week Trilogy of Terror- It was 3 chilling adaptions of 3 short stories written by the great sci fi author Richard Matheson. The late Karen Black ( not only a wonderful actress,she was also a great singer and songwriter) starred in all 3 of the features playing 4 characters.  As 12 year old kids of course we were the most horrified and terrified by the final story Amelia - a  story about  a demonic warrior doll that comes to life and starts attacking poor Ms. Black

 Starts out pretty chill but the last 10 mins of that film were very intense for us in 1975 ..we kids couldn't sleep well for a few nights .. I wrote the song as an homage to the story/movie/Ms. Black ( she didnt really like the movie) as well as using the story as  metaphor for the demons that live in us all

Emergence. Our humanity. Humans being humane... It's actually quite a selfish term when you reflect on what we mean for evolution up to this point. We are the first known beings that can reason their full existence and we have become that destroyer of natural selection from before we existed even though we have the ability to reflect on the importance of all those niches to the system itself.

This is very dangerous as we are not only affecting the climate but it looks like the balanced web of life that has built up slowly through billions of years allowing humans exist.

Gaia theory suggest that harmony and connection with everything is the way forward. We do this through endeavouring to understand this place properly and appreciation for everything. I believe in connecting with everything neuroplasticity can take over and rewire our brains to the system and a path on the greater good for all life. We need this to emerge collectively for it to flourish and become that positive beacon the present and future needs... The signs are there and we are analogies for the larger system. Just like a fake human forest is comparable but has no where near the strength of one that took millions of years and started as an amoeba... Don't insult the idea of the greater good being some confusing God wrapped thing you don't have to worry about being an atheist or agnostic. It's the greater good for a snail or you or a blade of grass and has nothing to do with anything we don't understand now.
