I love that Josh wrote a song about his favorite band, I never saw Phish live, but I am sure they are amazing, I have seen the Dead several times and string cheese incident live though, so i can imagine the vibe a bit, amazing collaboration from all, totally feel the love, great jam band sound, and wonderful contributions from SunnyBeck!

This is a love song written about Josh's favorite band, Phish. He came up with the chords on his acoustic guitar, and shared it with the group. This was written with Beck in mind, though, too, as he knew she'd be contributing her magic to this one, too. Even when it was just the acoustic guitar set to a looper beat, she came up with many of the parts you hear throughout. Although, she also readjusted and redid a lot of it, too, throughout the process. Ken was the next piece of the puzzle to jump in. He laid down his perfect drums beats to it in only one or two tries, giving it the groove it needed. After Ken laid down the beat, that allowed Josh to add his bass to the mix, too. It was almost done musically, but it needed a lead guitar, which Josh also put in there. Before it was finished, though, JJ weighed in with his clever organ, which can be heard from about 2:30 on. When it was all wrapped up musically, Josh also sang his lyrics, which are written from the perspective of two Phish heads conversing about the imminent Phish show, which is always a big, exciting event. 
  Josh has seen almost 70 Phish shows in his life, and he hopes his adoration for the band is evident in this song. This is the second song Eclectic Collective have done with Beck, and we all hope for many more, too. She's a fantastic musician, with a wonderfully deep well of creativity. This is the third Texas Tea song from me and @texmex-shaman that has a super dark eerie mournful vibe to it. We are thinking of them as a kind of trilogy that began with "Got a Light", continued with "Black Coffee" and culminates with this one. Each title is a reference to David Lynch's Twin Peaks. In season 1 or 2 of that show, the main character Agent Cooper says that he takes his coffee "as black as the sky on a moonless night". The mood is kind of appropriate for the weather this time of year, at least in my part of the world!

The Soughing Wind - Feat.Oddrun Eikli

As we approach the holiday season, carols will soon fill the air alongside larger works like Handel’s oratorio, "Messiah," which is a favorite of mine. When I was a child, my parents played Handel’s music in our home during the holidays, and in college, I sang his well-known works with the rest of our chorale.  

One movement, “All We Like Sheep,” makes me think of the biblical parable about the Good Shepherd, who leaves his flock to rescue one sheep that wanders off. I love this story for a number of reasons, but especially because it conveys the message that everyone matters to God, even when we wander and become lost. This parable, found in Luke 15 and Matthew 18, provided the inspiration for my composition, "The Rescue."

The first 25 seconds tell the story of the sheep wandering off, while the rest of the music follows the shepherd’s lengthy search. Throughout the piece, you will hear a recurring major chord that signifies a glimmer of hope as the shepherd continues his search. The shepherd nears the end of his journey when the music begins to slow down, and the very last chord represents the moment of discovery and rescue. The lost sheep is finally found and gently cradled in the shepherd's arms to return home.

None of my performances on any of my tracks, whether solo work, or collaboration, have any editing whatsoever. Effects and equalization? Of course! But no editing, no software, etc. Quite a substantial amount of these tracks are with The Eclectic Collective. We are like family and have been playing together on a daily basis since approximately March of 2022 as the Eclectic Collective. Before the band bore it's name Eclectic Collective; Josh, Ken, Stephen, Tez, and  CG Maness were doing some occasional collabs. At any given time we are all simultaneously working on about 15 different songs. And when we feel they are done cooking in the oven we release them.  We release a song every week on Fridays at 4AM UTC

My creative journey began as a visual artist, and now I'm concentrating my energy into creating music that can instantly impact minds and moods for the better. 

Almost all of my music is chill @ -100 bpm to hopefully stimulate calm and feelings of well-being in listeners as it does for me. 💙

I don’t use AI or samples. My music is original, digital, and composed using a MIDI keyboard and DAW. I also record live LoFi audio of ambient sounds such as birdsongs or rainstorms using an iPhone or a microphone connected to laptop.
