This is the 4th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic when I had extra time due to society closing down. This song was inspired by Black Lives Matter and my own experiences with the police growing up in the California East Bay Area in the 80s. 

It has been an incredible opportunity working with Wou-Wou, Stricknice, and Bitzone on this album. I feel like we have a realized sound and vision for the overall style of the album. It is exciting to know that we have many more tracks ready to be released.

This is the 7th song posted from the album I have been working on using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! I can't believe how fast time has passed and how long we have been working on this project. 4 songs from the album are based on a graphic novel that Wou-Wou had started before the pandemic began. The rest of the songs are reflections of the weird times we were living in.

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for still being here after all these years. I have known and worked with people on SoundCloud probably longer than I have known high school friends, college friends, and friends from various jobs. Huge thanks to Guitar Wizards of the Future. I remember when I first began participating in the SoundCloud community, I would always eagerly anticipate a new GWOTF track, especially because I grew up in Oakland California. When https://soundcloud.com/dneye asked me for a track to play his fantastic guitars on, I brainstormed this 5/4 piece with odd chord set in order to make it difficult to him and thus get the best from his skills. After programming it, I added some organic solos (yep I played keys) to make it seem more friendly ;))))

And he... succeeded in the challenge, overcoming all my expectations !!!

Our first song on the new album. 3 songs put into one. It's the start of the concept. The big question, to decipher the meaning of life.
The album starts where "mammals" ends.
Mammals was, for me, an album that criticises the society nowadays. The hate against other cultures. The fucked up isms we have to deal with (racism, facism) the greed. The cold world where groups only want to fill their pockets.
On decipher the journey begins with the death of someone who has to deal with the questions? Why can't we accept that life is a precious gift? Why do we fight each other instead of supporting us? I hope everyone gets his own meaning of "decipher" and enjoys the ride.

I spent two years making Punto Ártica album as a whole, and I mostly played my mom’s Spanish guitar in the spare time. This theme and chords got shape with time, without any plan, in some different variations I’ve tried to remember and craft here.

Even a 7/4 vocal section had come up. In the spirit of this new profile, I asked Codi (https://soundcloud.com/noisealter) to adapt my translation of a poem I wrote when my age was about 1/3 than now (see below), and he also sung it with the passion and delivery I was looking for !!

Original poem  /  First translation:

FEBRERO  /  FEBRUARY

Efe de frío, Febrero,  /  ‘F’ for Freeze, February,
tiempo de ocio y ventura  /  leisure and venture time.
Sueño, guitarra, lectura,  /  Sleep, guitar, reading,
paso intermedio.  /  intermediate step.

Tiempo de amigos y risas  /  Time for friends and laughter,
de descanso e ilusión  /  of rest and illusion
de esperanza y ocasión,  /  of hope and opportunity,
muere la prisa.  /  the rush dies.

Febrero de nacimiento,  /  February of birth,
pausa para el estudiante.  /  pause for the student.
Los problemas van delante,  /  The problems go ahead,
