As a thank you to our beloved community that showed us nothing but support and ap- preciation over the last year, Schimmer Records is releasing a compilation of 27 tracks by our residents and invited artists.

Just as we did last year, we want to use our reach to address the more serious issues the global community faces today and help the less fortunate. Especially the most vulnerable of us, children can suffer under the consequences of the action of others: Abuse, a lack of access to education and misplacement become rampant in times of war and conflict.

Thus, this year we feel the proceeds raised from our Christmas album, which is 15 Euro for the whole album, are best placed with “Save The Children“. After the release is funded 100% of our earnings will go towards the goal of helping children in need.

We wish you a very happy Christmas, a joyful time with the people dearest to you and a happy new year. See you in 2024!

Vy Tran is a DJ based in Berlin. Before Berlin, he lived in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania for almost ten years, where he was very actively involved in the electronic music scene and is still an integral part of the club ROSA and the Freiland Festival. In Berlin he has also recently become an active part of the Sonntagsinstitut. Vy’s sound merges both groove and drive without losing the deep and dynamic facets when creating his very own storyline.

ZATHRA - Refraktometria EP [MWTG003]

Refraktometria was produced by a two producers team from the ZATHRA collective: Internal Observer (@ntrnl-bsrvr) and 8R0 (@spoonworks). In the collective, they represent sounds oscillating around dark forms of dance music.

The produced tracks refer in their rawness to the industrial roots of techno. It is a trip full of loops of machine sounds, devoid of any unnecessary embellishments, and at the same time it lacks typical references to accepted standards. All tracks on this EP have been created in a way that leaves room for further sonic experimentation for any creative DJ. The direct inspiration for recording four tracks for this EP were images of light refraction of substances, the determination of whose coefficients is used to study their physicochemical properties. Hence its name - Refraktometria.
