On April 14th, 2015 Boddhi Satva went to Casablanca
(Morocco) to work on a very particular and uniq project called Boddhi Satva meets Gnawa. This EP
consists of four live recordings composed and recorded in Casablanca on April 21st, 2015. Each song
represents a colour/spirit that will heal and elevate the souls through sounds and rhythms. The order of
the song is highly meaningful and one couldn't come before the other as they have colours and spirits that
are to come upon the listener and bring blessing in a very specific order.
The main spirit/colour of Bania, Hamouda, Sandia & Zid Lmel is RED. Belma Belma is the combination of
all the colours known and used for healing rituals. In Moroccan popular culture, Gnawas, are considered
to be experts in the magical treatment of scorpion stings and psychic disorders through ceremonies. They
heal diseases by the use of colours. They are originated in West Africa, more particularly, The Ancient
Ghana Empire.

The 11th edition of 'Four To The Floor' is here. Diynamic Music's very own various artist series, which is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world.

Opening the record is a soaring Tech House train with the catchiest electric guitar-turn-string-turn-choir riff you will hear all year: 'Im So Crazy', originally released by Par-T-One in 2001, now remixed by Armonica.

Up next is German Brigante with 'Mango', a thumping bass heavy anthem with lots of old-school elements.

The third track 'Choose Life' by Alexandros Djkevingr & Greg Ignatovich has gained a lot of attention through Solomun's Tomorrowland set and features lyrics of Danny Boyle's critically acclaimed film 'Trainspotting'.

HOSH's fryhide label continues to carve out its own special niche in the underground world with a new EP from Simao. It features four original tracks that suggest this exciting artist is all set to blow up.

Simao hails from Lisbon but lives in London and is a well travelled DJ who is adaptable to any setting, from squats to vast outdoor raves to warehouses and intimate basements. He runs his own night Imperialism and is inspired by nature as well as DJs like Rodhad. Working subtle sounds and deep emotions into his sets, this EP proves Simao is a mindful artist with a considered and cerebral sound.

Foutayne Road is first and is seven suburb minutes of mindful and moody house. The synths roam and meander with a sombre air of their own as rubbery beats roll below. It's a patient track but one that makes a lasting impact once it gets under your skin.

Hale Pale is busier, with silky synths riding up and down the scale as sci-fi effects and smeared chords flesh out the already supple drums and bass. It's one that takes you deep into the night with a real sense of melodic colour.

Root then keeps you on edge with its nervy chords dangling above darker drums. It's suspenseful and the sort of track to really get you in a trance with its grand visions. Last of all is The Fridge, another masterfully melodic tune that is dreamy and zoned out, layered with lush chords and gentle thundering claps that bring a sense of narrative.

This is an exquisite EP stuffed with emotion and one that proves Simao is a master of melody.

Simao - Fountayne Road

In the Primitive EP featured here Zombies in Miami bring two stunning originals that offer up both the light and the dark. The title track Primitive is a fun discofied tune with floating flutes, a cut up vocal, and a bassline full of bounce. Contrast that with Tizane that gets witchy right from the start with ethereal arps, ominous synth sweeps, and vocal chants that summon the dark spirits. 

Joining the EP is Jakarta-based artist Jonathan Kusuma who has previously released on I’m a Cliche, Love on the Rocks, Nein, and Machine Limited among others. In his remix of Tizane, Jonathan Kusuma strips down the original giving it a heavier drive with a methodical intention on the guitars and vocals while keeping the dark vibes alive.
