Dark Entries is honored to release a 4-track EP by Red Axes, the prolific production duo of Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi from Tel Aviv. The pair were raised on a diet of post-punk, new-wave, and Italo-disco at fogged out warehouse and basement parties. Their own productions and remixes have appeared on labels such as I’m a Cliché, Correspondant, and Hivern Discs. ‘Nyx Tape’ features two new compositions backed with two edits from our catalog. First up is the slick electro anthem “5 Min” another collaboration with French-Canadian born singer Chloé Raunet aka C.A.R. Followed by “Nyx Tape” featuring charismatic singer-lyricist Gina Kikoine aka Gina X, who reached out after hearing their remix of her classic single “No GDM” that was a huge anthem on the Tel Aviv 80s underground scene. The track is an ecstatic dance to the rhythm in the darkness with Gina’s ice cold Teutonic spoken word taking creative inspiration from the Jewish Mourners’ Prayer – The Kaddish. On the B-side “Destination Moon” by Solid Space from 1982 has been given a dancefloor makeover with moody synths and a haunting guitar line reminiscent of an Adrian Sherwood dub. Closing this EP is a hypnotic edit of “La Machine á Rêver” by French bedroom synth freaks X-Ray Pop from 1984 slowed down to a 4/4 groove that takes the original to outer space and back. All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The EP is housed in a custom made jacket that features an original collage by Eloise Leigh representing Nyx, the Greek goddess of the night. Each copy included a postcard with notes and lyrics.

"Greg is returning to TSM with a solo EP inspired by the Russian Sci-Fi writer, Kir Bulychev's amazing novel 'The Settlement'. Even though all the 3 tracks are dancefloor oriented peak time music, the atmosphere of the EP is deeply rooted in that extraordinary story. It doesn't matter where you listen to this release - on a dancefloor or on the streets with earbuds - you can truly feel the tension and excitement that run through the book in these synth oriented melodic tunes. Anticipation, adventure all in one package.

There is no doubt this release will be a huge favorite of every melodic house and techno lover, all three tracks are excellent peak time choices. Every single sound is designed with the precision of an engineer and all three tracks take you to a different story.

Based in Milan, Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory is an Italian producer, DJ and guitarist who has enjoyed a rapid ascent through the electronic underground. Long a favourite of Dixon, John Digweed, Lehar, Nick Warren, Tale Of Us and Trikk, Daniel's music has found a home on some of the world's trendiest record labels, most notably Atlant Recordings, Azzur, Bedrock, Chapter 24, Isolate, MoBlack and Kompakt. Now following his critically acclaimed 'Hyper' EP, Ivory presents his microCastle debut 'No Scale Can Resize You'. 

Spread across five tracks, the 'No Scale Can Resize You' collection is a blend of dance floor inspired storyboards and contemporary electronica. Beginning with the pulsating energy and buzzing design of the Tale Of Us championed title selection, to the quirky musicality and cosmic funk of 'Biscuit', it's Daniel's' borderless scope and creative vision which resonates on a high frequency here.

Anchoring the EP's midway point is the much anticipated 'Pfauneinsel'. Already a favourite of Lehar, it's a tough yet hypnotic piece driven by unique rhythmic concepts and a flair for the dramatic. Most solemn perhaps is 'Romantic Circuits', whose astral arps and robotic vocals fuel this indie-tech gem, before perfectly segueing into the journey's closer 'Biggest Eyes On Earth'. Once again played by Tale Of Us and surrounded by much hype, it's reflective qualities are both emotive and timeless, rounding out a collection of music which has already made its mark on the world's most rebellious dance floors. For Daniel it's a unique anthology, one of boundless inspiration and endless possibilities, as he describes.

"Music is always about storytelling, 'No Scale Resize You' is a collection of short stories where there's not words, they give way to melodies, sounds and percussive elements to sing a song full of grace, delicate groove hypnosis and evocative soundscapes. Every sound has been modeled to create a parallel universe, with magical creatures that speak to us through synths and sound design. Drawing this EP was like a flow of consciousness, many different musical influences converged like rivers to create a unique body of water, one that reflects the soul of these musical tales, dark atmospheres, middle-eastern melodies, robotic beats, dreamy pads, wistful strings and analogic arps; where every part is an element of the same wild land discovered during the listening. An epical journey about strength, bravery, magic, mysticism and love. An island made by incantations and charming, fantastic animals, where you can be a dwarf or a titan, it doesn't matter, every hero has his greatness in the constant search to reach his dreams."

Booka Shade unveil the first in a series of new Various Artist releases on Blaufield Music entitled ‘FOURTUNES’, with the first package featuring Zoo Brazil, 8Kays, A Friend Of Marcus and LENny (IT).

Booka Shade’s journey to date has seen the iconic duo release a wealth of material via some of the industry’s leading labels, whilst their own Blaufield Music imprint has also quickly become both a home for their own productions, but also a platform to support both up and coming talents and also close friends of the duo from across the world. Having recently returned to the label to deliver their two-track EP ‘The Unseen/Banderas’, 2019 will now welcome the launch of a new project on the imprint, ‘FOURTUNES’ – a fresh Various Artist series dedicated to showcasing material from some of the scene’s brightest rising names alongside established artists from within both house and techno.

Kiev’s 8Kays opens the package with the soaring ‘Rainbow’, fusing bright lead melodies amongst darker, warping undertones, whilst Italian LENny (IT) works rich soundscapes, refined drum shots and deep bass tones throughout his contribution ‘Bellariah’. 

Next our premiere today - ‘The Distant Water Beyond’ - sees Australian producer A Friend Of Marcus reveal a series of entrancing arpeggios and vivid sonics, before house favourite Zoo Brazil, a long time friend from the duo’s Get Physical days, completes the EP with the infectious and hypnotic ‘Maxwell’.

When reading Ivory's discography you'll find a potpourri of electronic music's most trending labels - every single one carefully chosen to give the Ivory sound exposure. Ivory's summer playground turns out to be renowned Canadian label microCastle - and the musical marriage between the both couldn't be chosen more sensible as both parties support underground music with a spaced-out note. The upcoming five tracker 'No Scale Can Resize You' meets the aforementioned conditions and sees Daniel Tagliaferri, Ivory's real name, providing the scene with a range of his current musical work. 'Biscuit' probably is the most funky and spacey track of the EP, but starts off smoother than any fabric conditioner can make your laundry to then shake you faster than a washing machine drum. Ivory builds up and introduces his listeners thoroughly to further and new sounds and elements as rhythmically as his music and - one has to say of course - ends up in a break that's close to a cosmos' orbit in which these soundscapes are span around like the Cookie Monster deals with biscuits. 

Ivory's EP 'No Scale Can Resize You' will be out on microCastle on July 12th, 2019.
