Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Alan Fitzpatrick is back with a three-track EP that encapsulates what Alan’s Drumcode sound is all about. Hard-hitting drums that fire down onto the dance floor like cannon balls. Check! Intense key patterns that are as twisted as they are uplifting. Check! Beautiful melodies that seamlessly interlock with each element. Check! Big-sounding, infectious grooves and killer hooks generously sprinkled with the infamous Fitzpatrick magic over the top. CHECK! In short, this EP is everything we have come to expect from Alan over his long history with Drumcode (this is his 10th EP as a solo artist!), but still his sound remains fresh and super-charged for 2014.

We are happy to welcome Maceo Plex to Drumcode with the fourth instalment of his Conjure series, ‘Conjure Infinity’. Featuring two tracks ‘Conjure Dreams’ and ‘Conjure Floyd’, both are peak time monsters that introduce two very different elements. ‘Conjure Dreams’ utilises a groovy, melodic bass that is reinforced using tight thumping drums to shatter any dance floor into the universe. ‘Conjure Floyd’ builds into a more ‘heads down’ techno vibe with a very interesting breakdown. Two sure fire tracks to ignite the floor.

Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Influential DJ, producer and label owner Adam Beyer takes to his own Drumcode imprint to deliver his latest peak-time floor-filler in the collaboration with Bart Skils titled 'Your Mind'.

If you’ve caught a set from Adam Beyer recently, chances are you remember this track causing mayhem. ‘Your Mind’ is a banging new collaboration with Dutch talent Bart Skils, and it absolutely caught the attention of his Timewarp, Awakenings and Ultra set audiences with its haunting chorus chant. 

'Your Mind' is released via Drumcode on June 18.

About Jon Connor:
“I like these tunes, Jon, it sounds like my biscuit tin getting thrown down the stairs.” 

It’s not everyday the late Howard ‘Mr Nice’ Marks offers his eloquence to describe your thundering techno. But then Jon Connor is no everyday DJ. 

Real name Jon Lundstram, the decade spanning artist ID is less a reference to Terminator’s leader of the resistance, and everything to do with his first son. A fact that seems less random for a biography once you understand a little about the man in question. Loyalty, family, and keeping it real being operative words. 

One of the UK’s lesser-sung, but highly-respected techno dons, to trace his story all the way back requires cutting to the chase. Learning his trade in the sweat and chaos of Wales’ free party scene in the mid-1990s, it wasn’t long before foot stomping amid the crowd led to a physical approach to mixing in the booth, buying turntables aged 16. 

Graduating to clubs with a booking at Rhyl’s Orange Peel venue- following in the footsteps of regulars like Carl Cox and Sasha- the talent was clear to see. Hence the residency at another British institution, North, and a reluctant entry into the Dog’s Bollocks DJ competition. But perhaps it’s best to let Connor do some talking. 

“It was more like a battle in those days,” he says of the contest. “Quite a bit of cockiness and rowdiness. Almost like going into a boxing match. This one guy tried to stitch me up by getting his mate to come up to the decks and knock the table. The needle jumped, I caught it, and landed back on the beat.” 

Crowned champion in 2001, bookings came thicker and faster than the beats Connor plays. Relocating to Cardiff to study music production- joining classmates like Kosheen, Cerys Matthews, and Sharn Evans- he found himself on the podium at the Welsh Music Awards. It’s here the aforementioned Marks made the aforementioned comment during a set before some 3,000 revellers, on a bill of luminaries like Rob Tissera and Graham Gold.

Understandably he was left disillusioned. Looking beyond the world of BPMs, he found a new career in offshore wind; working huge industrial locations which, acoustically speaking, share common ground with the genre that got him to this point. 

Today Connor remains a fully qualified technician, spending six months on site and six months off, the latter split between loved ones and his beloved music, re-launching Bubblejam events and label in 2016. Now a home for his own album, Steam, which landed midway through 2017, the collection is best summarised in his own words; “beauty, funk, drive and dirt”. 


With the brand hosting sessions from Liverpool to Lithuania, where it draws thousands to various Vilnius locations on a regular basis, a sister label, Bubblejam Gold caters for the dark side stuff, betraying the contrast in the bossman’s own sets. From solid grooves to nosebleed drills. All of which is before we mention Bubblejam Estate, an electro-arm waiting in the wings, about to add yet another chapter in the story of a true underground techno purist, who nonetheless remembers the fundamental rules of the scene. 

Solid music should not mean less fun. Enough said, he’ll see you front and centre.
