REGGIE HINES - Multiple Instrument Musician/Producer/Composer

February 2, 1968 in South Bronx New York, Reggie Hines was born to captivate the world with the multitude of talents he possesses. As an Instrumentalist, Songwriter, Producer, and Composer; Reggie Hines is a multi-faceted talent playing guitar, piano, bass, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) and of course, the saxophone.

Reggie Hines comes from a musically entrenched family, Mother and Father Hines both deep-rooted in music and the music industry, introduced Hines to Parliament Funkadelic or P FUNK, James Brown and Miles Davis at an early age. Late in the midnight hours little Reggie would hear mom and dad jamming the night away. Hines love for music then began to take him on a lifelong journey. Attending a prominent performing arts school in the heart of Manhattan, Hines began making friends with various people of multiple elasticities; music paved a way for Hines to cross over into diverse cultural experiences. Hines set his sights on Berkley College of Music in Boston, to pay for school; Hines joined the U.S. Army Band, where he underwent some of the most austere musical training yet. Hines embraced the knowledge of global musical studies in Hindu, Arabic, Japanese and many other cultural origins.

Music is his mistress. As a true lover of the art Salsa, Meringue, Jazz, and Funk, Reggie Hines has spent his entire life becoming the musical alchemist that he is today. The long hours that Hines spent studying the art of music finally began to bear fruit. Hines has written and composed for artist such as Gerald Alston (The Manhattans), Regina Belle and many more. Hines musicology breached the music industry when he masterminded “The Prime of My Life” album for the late songstress, Phyllis Hyman. “I Can’t Take It Anymore” and “When You Get Right Down To It”, attained Grammy nominations for best R&B song of the year. Hines was honored with an ASCAP Award for his skilled musical composition.

Mr. Hines has been able to utilize his gift with other artist including, but not limited to Chaka Khan, and Tru Master just to name a few. Hines worked with Tru Master and The RZA composing the movie score for “Blade Trinity”. That version of the soundtrack did not make it into the movie; however, Mr. Hines did create the full orchestral score for the film, “Like Butta Baby”, as well as “Colors of Rage”. 2002, Hines was featured on the soundtrack of the motion picture film Austin Powers Goldmember.

National recognition came for Mr. Hines a short time later after appearing on ‘The Regis and Kelly Show’, ‘The David Letterman Show’, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and ‘Tom Joyner’s Sky Show and Cruise’. Hines’ musical genius led to many request for a multitude of global events and festivals. Hines has made appearances in the Montreal Jazz Festival, Bermuda Jazz Festival, Bou Bou’s Jazz Festival in St. Barth’s, Meringue Soul Festival, Sinbad’s Bermuda Cruise Festival, St. Lucia Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Essence Music Festival, Pori Jazz Festival in Finland, Jamaica Jazz Festival, Atlanta Midtown Music Festival, NV Magazine Awards, Black Enterprise Golf Classic, Vy Higginson’s Blue Note Gospel Tour in Japan, Lou Rawl’s United Negro College Fund Telethon, Miami Soul Beach Festival, the Jack & Jill Foundation and many, many more.

The “Do You See What I See”, CD debut in 2006 made an outstanding impact on the Jazz community only to be followed by the latest and greatest work; in 2009 Hines released the chart topping CD, “Live Your Life”, the return to his musical roots, infusing multiple music genres with Jazz. Hines recently embarked on a journey to the other side of world for the Harlem Nights Tour in Japan. Currently, Hines projects include working with comedian Tommy Davidson, J. Anthony Brown and Craig Robinson (The Office).

DaveDream aka Dj Young Dave began his musical career in Alice, Texas at the age of 13. He was taught to master the turntables by his older brother Dj Rick. At 16 years old, he performed his first rave at Club NRG in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has much respect for his fellow Djs, who he is also thankful to call his friends. They include Dj NRJenz, Dj Rene “The Weekend Warrior”, Dj Phillip, Dj X, Dj Joe Friar, Dj Doug, Dj Craig and of course his brother Dj Rick. When you listen to his mixes, it is as if you are listening to a story. There is a beginning, middle, and an end. A journey to Another Level of Dance. His influences include Hybrid, Way out West, Starecase, BT, Maor Levi. Just to name a few… I'm on a mission from God...just passing through sharing my faith and music skills with my friends and people unknown. I'm trying to spread the love of dance music to the masses I am half of Housecrew Productions / Dj Service .. Other 1/2 is my brother Dj Rick. The love for music runs deep within me, Ive been djing for 26 yrs and it all began with my brother (Rick). He introduced 2 / 12inch records singles: "bizarre love triangle" by New Order &amp; "you make me feel so good" by Book of Love.  I started mixing cassettes to cassette "yes cassette to cassette"  My brother's friend Technic Ted/ had the first Dj set up I had ever laid my eyes on, it was a nice set up: 2 /1200 technics &amp; the Technics first Cd mixer "sweet". It would be here at ted's house were my brother taught me the technics of mixing and the love of turntablism. thanks a Brady ST26J for all the great yrs. The night life / was an awesome sight to see when your only 14 yrs old, entering all these nightclubs and seeing all these people loving the dance music the Dj was throwing down. Making friends with the Dj's from the radio shows and the nightclubs was also great feeling, they used to ask me to work the light show and other equipment when they had like a dance contest, I would work the music and lights while they took a break.  Practice makes Prefect / As high school rolled around I would stay home practicing my skills and be saving my money to purchase records for the weekend. My big debut came the summer of ' 93 in front of hundreds of people @ my 1st rave Called: Apocalypses Rave @ club NRG in C.C. TX Krusaders Of Kaos XTC: (c.c. tx), ED CORTEZ (kingsville, tx) YOUNG DAVE (alice,tx) "it was one of the best feelings I had ever felt" just seeing hundreds of people dancing to music I was spinning'.  I would talk to a friend of mine by the name of Bobby Boss because he was a great supporter of techno and dance music. With him having a radio show he decided to do a mix show like 3 hrs long on Saturday nights on 105.9. We continued with the Sat night club zone for 1 yr. Thanks bobby boss for the air time, keep up the good sound. In 1999 URB magazine had there first annual mixtape contest and I made runner-up in the dance category. To be mention in a world wide mag is an awesome feeling. URB Magazine/June issue vol.9 number 65. 
 My friend AJ and Thomas introduce me into some software on making &amp; producing beats on the computer and other systems. I got into making beats for myself and sampling old records with new sounds from the software introduced. I've but together some remixes of songs and even finished 10 tracks and named it my first album called "treasured moments" in 2001. Now today with even more technology and more software, I am finished with my 5th album and it promises to be more versatile and more vocals, maybe even from me" we will see.  I am so ready / for the next step in this music, Djing, business. Rick and I have our own self employment business called House Crew Production, &amp; what makes you think you sound good Records, &amp; I have branched off and made my 12 X 12 studios, locally. I thank God for giving me so much talent &amp; awareness.

Ed Ayers started his career as a studio session trumpet player in the late 50s. Playing with names like Aretha Franklin, Roy Ayers and Herbie Hancock amongst others. He became one of the most looked after session musicians and a "must have"in any studio recording of a wind section.  In the 70s he acquired great arranging skills, writing great pieces for many of the big names in the music scene. He also acquired a deep understanding of a diverse range of synthesizers, drum machines and other analog gadgets. 

In the mid 80´s while djing as a stand in for Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage (while Larry was snorting heroin with Grace Jones) he became one of the big underground names of the proto house scene. On one of the legendary nights he span records, he met no other then his future wife Agneta Fältskog (also known as one of the ABBA members) Together they moved to Stockholm and made loads of babies.

Now days he spends most of his time doing re edits of his favorite tracks and circuit bending all of his VST plugins. As he recently been diagnosed with acute schizophrenia, his therapist recommended working on his new label Subsoil Recordings and its releases as a mean to not become totally "insane"

He is off course still available for Dj/remixing (and children parties).
