Shackle N’ Skank vinyl DJ team is the culmination of two men’s decades long quest digging through basement racks, crates, classified ad’s, bargain bins, village hall jumble sales, auction rooms, car boots, their Uncle Roy’s attic, and even record shops, to find the finest Hot Tropical Rhythms ever comitted to wax. Dance music spanning from the 1930’s to to this week’s choicest 12” releases. A gumbo pot of Ska, Latin, Mambo, Cumbia, Rhythm & Blues, Balkan, Jazz, Disco, Afrobeat, and all manner of funky global grooves, mixed together for guaranteed sunshine from the speakers wherever they play, whatever time of year.
Their bi-monthly vinyl spinning visual extravaganza ‘Peace Up In a Brewery’, at The Phipps Albion Brewery, Northampton, continues to grow in its reputation as THE hearty party after a barnstorming sell out NYE 2014 launch.
Past festival slots have included Womad, Latitude and Shambala, and they have been main DJ support for DJ Yoda , Jerry Dammers , Don Letts , Goldie and Daddy G ‘Massive Attack’.
