NO LIGHT WITHOUT DARKNESS” is my own take and personal view on the Z-Sound.

I will guide you into a deep journey through the full array of the Zenon Soundscapes and Aesthetics, a meticulously crafted selection of gem tracks diving through the solid representation of the Z concept of Music:

Dark Prog, Psy-Prog, Psychedelic Techno, Groovy, Glitch & Squelch, Swampy, Doof & Bush, Industrial, Small Talk and all the way to the immersive and emotional Cinematic Zenonesque.

I will be your pilot on this journey we will embark together from take-off to landing and I really hope you can enjoy my ride 🛸

I will lead you as you step into the hero’s journey, the clash between light and dark is many times not clear but blurred: fear or hope, self or selfish… two beings live inside you, the one that’s stronger is the one you feed, so who will you decide to be ?!

The Mythology of light and darkness, the pursuit of balance comes in full circle at the end of the journey, and waiting for you… there is 💛 LOVE 🖤

JAAKKO is the Progressive Psytrance project of the Portuguese born Tiago.

He´s the founder of the Fusion Gatherings, having thrown hundreds of events under his belt in his city, Porto,  & hosting the “crème de la crème” of Eletronic Music Artists.

Jaakko is now also a member of the iconic label – Zenon Records - surely home of some the most creative Producers & DJs in the Psytrance scene of today.
His personal interpretation of Psytrance goes into a Deep World, the Dark-Prog Zenonesque with a hypnotyc techish flavour . A trully psychedelic aesthetic landscape through a mental & physical journey (un)balanced on a sporadic groovy emotional dive.

He has gone Worlwide, performing gigs in Israel, Goa, Germany, UK, Holland & Morocco at some of the most wicked clubs & outdoor festivals like the BOOM, Psy-Fi, Neopop, Modem Festival, Enter/Minus, Lost Theory, Freedom Festival, the unlikely Transahara in the distant dunes of the Sahara Desert or the Paradisiac “Lagoa das 7 Cidades” in the Azores Islands.

But let's rewind the tape further back into a few years ago...

Tiago was a young student from the University of Porto doing his diploma in Physiotherapy & developing his skills at the best Hospitals of his city, but at the same time, going through some heavy raving on weekends in a Paradise called Portugal.
His influences were coming from Aphex Twin, Laurent Garnier, Luke Slater, Jeff Mills, Afrika Bambaaata, Koxbox, The Delta, Eat Static, Freq, Cosma or the Plastikman. Most of all he´s always been a Music Lover & over the years he became an obssessive collector of all genres of electronic music, which inevitablly led him into the DJ BOOTH.

In December of 2009 just one month after finishing his graduation he founded the Fusion Gatherings.

The rest is happy happy story :)

Naming only a few, JAAKKO hosted the likes of Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Max Cooper, Minilogue, Mathew Jonson, Agents of Time, Ace Ventura, Astrix, Ajja, Tristan, Avalon, Loud, Perfect Stranger, Emok, Captain Hook, Liquid Soul, Vini Vici & his fellow label buddies, Sensient, Hypogeo, Kliment, Evil Oil Man, Hellquist, Sumiruna & pHaSenVerScHiEbunGeN.

The result was the breeding of a series of top-notch production events with loads of smiles on the dancefloor leading to the renowned concept well known in Porto as FUSIONLOVE <3

“For those who don´t know my work, my approach to the performance on stage & as I´m always looking for the latest technology to add to my setup, includes multi-track mixing & drum-machine played live. It can feel quite weird at fIrst glance but I really love the feeling of the classic drum sounds layering with the wicked zenonesque progressive grooves.”
