We're proud to present Accidental Business, a long-term project strewn with pitfalls and disillusions nodding to the incongruous events that led to the birth of Unknown Precept. Looking back at what made our trademark for the past 8 years, this new compilation marks a turning point in our discography. Scanning out the dustiest corners of the label's bizarre roster to offer a complete look at Unknown Precept's soul and vision; it brings together 18 tracks of unreleased material and collaborations recorded by our closest friends. From slow-paced post-punk hitting hard as bricks to short-circuited noise that makes the power supply trip, not to mention our love for the grotesque and self-mockery via humorous wonky synthpunk and bad tempered body music cracking jokes at a ghost audience. This is what you get when a group of people that have no clue what they're doing get together. Into the unknown we sink, but where to find us next?

Swoon

She was gracious and elegant, dancing softly before them all as they watched onwards with jealousy and glee. From time to time she would vanish into the smoke and the fog, only to emerge more radiant and glowing than before she had disappeared. This was all part of the magic, all part of the allure and the intrigue of such a beautiful display. She caught each onlookers eyes, longingly taking them in before whispering softly "can I be your geisha?" It was enough to set the whole damn world on fire, at least for an evening anyway. 

Naomie Klaus is set to release a new tape via Bamboo Shows, a meandering, odd assortment of synth, new wave and electronic sounds which touch upon pop. It's whimsical and weird, wonderful and wild.

"Coconut Grove started as a secret. I wrote & recorded it in deliberate solitude over the course of a year, in long sessions when I was alone at home or after everyone else had gone to sleep. I had the uncanny sense of discovering something quite old rather than of making something new.

Every album I’ve made revealed itself over time - Coconut Grove snaked its way through my psyche, going back to my beginnings. While working on it, I found some notes I had jotted down back in 2006, when I was 22 & first inching away from punk towards electronic music. I wrote that I had been dreaming of something humid and menacing, melting but also alluring. I heard some of that in the haunting, dubby minimal techno of the time, and imagined it crossed with the slashing urgency of my favorite no wave & post punk bands. I imagined the catharsis I experienced as a performer rerouted through techno’s mercurial endlessness. Those visions never left me, and I’ve been dreaming of them in one way or another ever since. Coconut Grove folded that time back onto the present, letting me start again from the beginning.

A lot can happen in a year, and, at the risk of sounding coy, a lot happened to me in 2018. Coconut Grove was an exorcism, or maybe a rebirth, but whatever it was it moved with a little extra fluidity. You can hear it for yourself, but I will say the album’s softer touch is no accident. Living in that secret space, it felt good to let some air in."

Written and recorded by Sebastian Lee Philipp with his Uhrwald Orange studio collaborator Ralf Beck, ’Morgenrot’ originally appeared on Die Wilde Jagd's debut album in 2015. For this release, Philipp and Beck re-visited the song: the ensuing ‘Fangschuss Version' enjoys an augmented arrangement, additional instrumentation and a haunting guest vocal by New- Zealand based singer Nina Siegler. In Philipp’s words, the 'Fangschuss Version' constitutes “a venture to capture the spirit that has been guiding this fusion release - a desire to explore the concepts of friendship, time, distance and memory. An attempt to unveil fragments of the unseen and to reveal the surge of a distant remembrance in an embracive listening experience.

Ancient Methods showcase an epic masterpiece of enchanting medieval-vibed techno.

Throbbring Gristle and Psychic TV are a huge part of all my adolescent inspirations and imaginery. I was attending to many of their gigs around Italy and Europe (including also related projects like Coil and Chris & Cosey)from the end of the 90's till last year.  Death is maybe not the end, but from today we are definitely more alone in this collapsing world.
