Richard Arnold "Groove" Holmes (Camden, New Jersey, May 2, 1931 – St. Louis, Missouri, June 29, 1991) was an American jazz organist who performed in the hard bop and soul jazz genre. He is best known for his 1965 recording of "Misty" which is considered a precursor of acid jazz.

His sound was immediately recognizable in the upper register, but even more so because of his virtuosity in creating, undoubtedly, the most rapid, punctuating, and pulsating basslines of all the jazz organists.

Though he died at the age of 60, he established a recognition within the community of jazz organ giants including Jimmy Smith, Brother Jack McDuff, and Jimmy McGriff.

Christopher has been spinning eclectic sets of music in the Bay Area and beyond for the last 20 years. He took on his Jack Frost persona at Burningman circa 1998 when he joined forces with the Antarctica crew to throw parties in a refrigerated 50 ft. semi truck decorated like an ice cave. He has gone on to spin everywhere from hot springs, roller rinks, opium dens, art cars and clubs large and small. He produced the album Tiny Mirrors for The New Up and is always working on mixes and re-edits. Thanks for the support.
