After the epic "The Day of the Doctor" gave us a new theme over the end credits, and one soul piercing shot of Peter Capaldi's eyes, the next thing for me to do was remix it, of course!

This is Version 2, with a pitch-change to create a darker sound, perhaps more suited to Capaldi's Doctor

ALL THE TIME (TOVE LO FLIP)

This is a theme concept I've been working on recently, for a longer titles sequence for DOCTOR WHO. I was picturing something akin to the opening titles of HBO's HIS DARK MATERIALS, a journey through the story and images you see throughout the series. Something similar could be really fun for Who, taking you across the universe and back again in just 90 seconds!

The throwback '70s logo and Ncuti Gatwa's retro wardrobe inspired me to look to the Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker theme for inspiration; the synth parts draw on that rendition, with the distorted melody, detuned pitch, and looping "wail" at the end. 

On top of that, I added a Murray Gold-style orchestral accompaniment, drawing on his arrangements from 2005-17, but also adding a few flourishes of my own!

I've always had a soft spot for this theme, despite the hate it's received over the years. (I've once heard the melody synth called "a whistling fart," haha!) 

Personally, I like the daring choices Keff McCulloch makes in arranging the piece, such as completely changing the bassline and adding the Middle-8 to the intro. However, the actual instruments he uses (all pre-sets on the Prophet V, by the way) are pretty weak. (Besides the bassline, which is awesome.)
