I learned this song from a recording of Liam Clancy, and think it was one of the first songs I ever sang in a session - or in public at all!

This song is particularly special to me because of both its story and the fact that it's one of the only songs that my sister and my wee mammy sing with me, in harmony and all! Telling the story of the Dutchman who is senile, and his wife Margaret who takes care of him, it's a story about unconditional love in the face of hard times. Michael Peter Smith wrote the song in the late 60s, and some say the song became more famous than him. Enjoy!

A tune from the 2016 sessions , I hadn't listened to this track in a while-after a listen I thought I would post it today. This tune was influenced by the band Diamond Head , a band who have inspired many other great bands. The middle section was influenced by Rush , a band that I have loved since I was a young dude & of course Led Zep have a huge influence on so many facets of my own writing. I hope y'all dig the vibe folks.

Jack Warnock is a multi-instrumentalist/singer from Maghera, Co. Derry. He is currently Artist in Residence for Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin, An tAcadamh Ceoil and IMBOLC International Music Festival.

As Guitar/Piano/Vocalist in the traditional groups Cóiriú and Meargánta, Jack has performed in the final of Siansa Gael Linn at the National Concert Hall, Dublin on multiple occasions, and at the Royal Albert Hall, London. He is part of The Doc Flock who appeared at the Celtic Colours International Festival in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in October 2016. Jack won the An Ré Nua (Solo Singing) competition in the lead-up to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2013 in Derry and in 2018 Jack was nominated for the prestigious BBC Young Folk Award. Later that year he won the Senior Accompaniment Competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. He is the guitarist and singer with hot new trad group, ‘TRODA’.

Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with many fantastic musicians, playing support for We Banjo 3, Ulaid, Lúnasa and more. Jack has also provided accompaniment for musicians such as Liz Doherty, The Vallely Brothers and Troy MacGillivray. He is a graduate of Ulster University, Magee, with a 1st Class Honours in Irish with Music.
