dj stat (pronouns: they/them) curates music for the people bringing an eclectic mix of house, hip hop, pop edits, and other genres to their sets. As a queer, non-binary, Japanese mixed race artist and organizer, dj stat is passionate about lifting up the stories and beats of their communities. 

Over the years, dj stat has played a variety of community events, fundraisers, and house parties primarily reaching communities of queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) in Denver. They’ve played events including Damn Gurl!, Queer/Crush, and fundraisers for several activist organizations.

After the wolf left almost six years ago,  I decided as the writer to continue recording as Gypsy and the Wolf as of this year. I recorded these little snapshots of how I was feeling during the 2020 lockdown. I’ve enjoyed the process, remembering people I’ve loved in the past and things that moved me.
