The Hungry Pyknic consists of two members. One of us is the singer and the other does the music. Our songs are inspired by many different genres. We like to use unusual time signatures and song formatting while we write and create our sound.

All of our songs are recorded on Cubase Elements 11.

Our goal is to have our songs heard by as many people as possible. With time, we would like a Canadian studio to hear our songs and have them professionally recorded.

"Inuuro is a Norwegian cross-genre electronic project combining melodic airy choruses with an ambient downtempo vibe. The project was founded in 2012 by the three Norwegian producers Alexander, Oskar and Ludvig in Stavanger.

Inspired by the likes of Vincenzo, Tycho and Teen Daze the trio creates a mix of elements from both ambient, post-rock, dreampop and indie-electronica. The young trio got some recognition back home with their track Nostalgic People and ended up doing their own release of the album Heralds of Growth in 2014. They later also released a collaborative EP named Air with fellow Norwegian producer Zimpzon through the label Silk Music in 2016. After that the trio focused on a few selected gigs, among them playing support as part of the Odesza/Slow Magic Set it off tour."

SEASURFER is the project of Dirk Knight working with singers and musicians from all over the world influenced by Shoegaze, Dreampop, guitars and electronic. Dirk was also founder of the ethereal dreampopband DARK ORANGE in the 90ies.

Clutching at the coattails of gothic folk, Rosa Lavenne delivers a dreamy sound with melancholic lyricism. Heavy on reverbed synths, as well as the folk traditions of fingerstyle guitar and melodic harmonies, mean that Rosa stands at the crossroads between tradition and modernism. The intricate fingerstyle guitar and natural vibrato of Joan Baez combined with the ethereal sadness and dreampop inclinations of Marissa Nadler is one way to describe the sound of Rosa Lavenne. Under the influence of the acoustic masters such as Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Sandy Denny and Bob Dylan, Rosa Lavenne adds her unique twist on folk pop melancholia. 

Rosa has been played multiple times on national radio (BBC Wales) and has been featured in the British folk magazine Folk Radio UK. She has been compared to folk greats such as Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks and Sandy Denny. 

It is important to Rosa that her art is entirely her own which is why she writes, records and produces all the sounds entirely herself. She frequently sings about the loneliness and hopelessness of youth as well as heartbreak, love loss and a longing to return to the past. Like herself, Rosa’s music is introspective, pensive and, at times, pretty gothic. She hopes listeners will come and explore this world with her.

Doodling on guitars whilst never losing focus of the actual song. That is the common ground on which Still Trees and Still Trees’ Simon Graupner aka Shelter Boy base their music. Under his new alias Simon has built a shelter for his own songs, which shine in a quite different light than the pompous Still Trees indie-rock. On his first release under this name Simon presents a sound like Saturday afternoon sunlight that blissfully shines through the four songs on the first EP. A sound that invites you to laze about. It’s worthwhile listening closely though. The clear vocals follow a simple melody and are entangled in a web of very sophisticated guitar patterns. There is no distortion in Shelter Boy’s home, it is clean but not sterile. Everything sounds like it’s where it belongs. The guitar is clearly in the foreground but leaves enough space for the rhythm section to groove along. Everything is arranged casually without any part of it being arbitrary.

Mac Demarco is quite an obvious influence but so are the British bands that have previously had an impact on the choruses of Shelter Boy’s main band Still Trees. The influence is clearly audible without the direction being predefined or anything being copied. Additionally Shelter Boy’s Music is emotionally flexible: it is just as good on a rainy day when you don’t feel like going out as it is on a sunny day in the park. When forced to describe his own sound Simon would say it is dreampop. If you need a label, that would be fitting. The the fizzy guitar lines sparkle in one moment only to ascend to a chorus that bid to sing along but don’t necessarily provoke it. A sound to raise your glass to with friends of well thought out pop music, only to carry on doing so all night. When you wake up slightly hungover the next morning Shelter Boy will still be the right soundtrack for your day.
