Next up on the gold standard tech house imprint that is Roush, comes label boss himself, Hector Couto. On the Parental Advisory EP, the influential Spaniard has readied four cuts of to-the-point club music that cannot fail to make its mark. 

Hector is one of the most respected artists around with a truly global allure for his brand of house music. He has released on labels such as Defected, Moon Harbour, Hot Creations and Get Physical and is no stranger to the finest DJ booths in the world, from Ministry of Sound to Amnesia Ibiza. As such any new music from him warrants deserved excitement. 

Proving that once more is excellent opener 'Like This,' a wobbly tech house tune that is full of electronic funk. It has great vocals, swollen bass and siren like synths that really get under your skin and demand you dance. Title track 'Parental Advisory' is a real party starter with wild vocals and jittery drums. Off kilter synth stabs and fat bass all make it a hugely fun and characterful tune that is sure to stand out in any set. 

Moving on to the essential 'Old Roots', this one comes laden with retro breakbeats and a dusty sense of groove. Air horns and crisp hi hats all get stitched into the loopy groove and pull you deeper and deeper in with each rotation. Lastly, 'Bubble Gum' comes with a snaking bassline that is tough and rugged. Classic 909 pops and clicks pepper the groove, as do plenty of sweet vocal samples and the result is one hell of a tech tune that sounds like little else. 

This is another masterclass in effective, emotive dance music and marks another fine release for both label and artist. The vinyl elease will be accompanied by a digital version featuring an exclusive remix from Santé.

Pablo Inzunza, is a young Chilean DJ & Producer, and is owner of the two Chilean labels Tempura Records and Aires Music. He has released music on 8 BIT, Deeperfect, Go Deeva and Monique Speciale, and has gained DJ support from Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Richie Hawtin,Marco Carola, Steve Lawler and Laurent Garnier.

Blinded is a dubby techno gem, plenty of pace and energy, as its percussion paves the way for some solid dance floor action. Bleeps and tones add depth as we subtly build as this gem swaggers along with an air of a a timeless feel about it.

Swedish techno fave Par Hammar delivers not one, but two remixes. Having released music on such esteemed labels as AVOTRE and Danse Club, he was the ideal remixer for this release. Lets start with his Wednesday Dubb Remix. Rollin beats, and utilising the dubbiness from the original, this tasty touch up oozes of class, and is an intelligent rework for the cooler dance floors.

Par Hammars Saturday Dubb Remix is a punchier workout, taking the energy levels up, boosting the bassline and creating lots of space for the track to develop in your own mind. Dubbiness with attitude. 

The second Original from Pablo is Drumatic. This is a tougher and druggier gem, moody and layered with lots of low end and a subtle acid line that sounds along with this deep techno banger. 

And rounding things off nicely on this package, is Clio, who's productions for Drumcode, Truesoul, Electric Ballroom and Snatch! have been thrusting this Berlin based producer to the top of his game. Retaining the moodiness of the original, but altering the vibe with solid beats and drawn out effects that create tension and adds a shoulder swaying jackin' edge to proceedings.

Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave label has been busy laying down foundations for the past twelve months. The run-away success of their debut single “We Do What We Want” is far from the entire story. Much of the last year has been spent “getting their hands dirty”; nurturing new talent (such as Boxia, whose “Point Of No Return” hit set summer stages alight), developing and establishing an events concept (via WATB parties in Manchester, London, Glasgow and Ibiza), and gathering like-minded artists and their music together to support the labels burgeoning release schedule. 

We Are The Brave was set up as a community. At the core of this enterprise is the spirit of collaboration. A partnership between like-minded creatives. An alliance between artists and fans. A hub for sharing ideas and for working together. Nowhere has this spirit been most apparent than between the growing partnership between Alan Fitzpatrick and Darius Syrossian. Individually, they are both figureheads of brands and headliners in their own right, however, both are open-minded enough to realize that they are stronger together than they are competing for every inch of space within an increasingly overcrowded market.   

“It’s great to see how Alan operates. It's normal for him to be a resident for a party like Do Not Sleep in Ibiza but at the same time pushing his own We Are The Brave brand and instead of this creating a conflict, he manages to create a win-win for all sides. He is such a down-to-earth and humble guy but he makes unreal music and brings just as much passion when he DJs.”   

Indeed, it is that same unpretentious sentiment that is at the core of Syrossian’s “Made For Manchester”, as Syrossian explains, “I was a weekly resident in Manchester from 2008 to 2015 and the city means the world to me as a built a strong connection with the crowd there. I don’t get to play the city as often as I’d like now due to my touring schedule, so I wanted to make a track for the city, one that I know has my signature sound but also an emotive feel to show home much love I have for Manchester”. 

And Syrossian’s thoughts on Fitzpatrick’s remix? “I love the fact that Alan can bring old skool rave sounds back into his music while keeping it underground. My original is quite heavy in parts and the breakdown is very main room, but Alan has put a perfect twist on the original and together the two tracks make for a perfect package”

Rogue D is the new solo project from Danny Minchella. Under this new moniker he delivers the eagerly awaited Chains. Set to be one of the biggest tracks of the year, it’s a high octane, club-ready number with abundant driving percussion. Unstoppable force Patrick Topping is also back on home ground for the remix.

“Chains was inspired by Jamie 3:26’s and Cratebug’s edit of Loretta Holloway ‘Hit N Quit’ - I wanted a simple, raw track, killer bassline and a soulful vocal. The process was very fast and I made the majority of the groove in one morning. I dug deep in my collection, looking for that special vocal and came across Steve Silk Hurley’s “Chain of Fools’ (with Aretha Franklin on the original vocal), and it just made the record pop!” - Rogue D

As an artist Minchella has played some of the world’s most esteemed establishments and released on a wealth of high profile labels. He now aims to use his Rogue D guise as a means to express his forward thinking and personal tastes in sound- from techno to old school garage to the sounds of Detroit. He’s already released on DFTD as well as providing a remix of Soul Clap’s Misty on Classic Music Company.

In his relatively short career so far, label favourite Patrick Topping has made the cover of Mixmag, won a coveted DJ Mag Best Of British award and made the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs. He’s released some of the biggest tracks on Hot Creations and is resident for Jamie Jones’ Paradise at DC10. On his rework of Chains, Topping isolates the vocal and adds a tribal bounce to proceedings.

We Are The Brave launched 2019 with Alan’s biggest release to date, the gargantuan 7 track ’11:11 The Awakening’ truly laying the path for a mega year ahead. With the House Party tour now firmly an annual fixture for the label, its family of artists have steadily been growing with some key releases along the way from Darius Syrossian, Reset Robot, Boxia, Gary Beck, Skream and Alan’s collab with Sasha.

Ronnie Spiteri has been one of those artists who has played many of the showcases over in the UK, and alongside Alan in Ibiza last summer for Do Not Sleep as one of their residents. ‘Talking To Nature’ marks his second EP on the label and also We Are The Brave’s 30th release!

The title track kicks things off on this EP with punctuating kick drum and scintillating hats. The track has a house inspired piano hook which makes its groove nostalgic and infectious. A mega big room breakdown hits just right, no doubt making this a festival hit.

“The EP is definitely one of my strongest releases to date – Talking To Nature was inspired by a Richy Ahmed track that I heard Nick Curly play at Time Warp; it was one of those inspirational moments that turns into a productive studio session and with Danny Howard premiering it on his BBC Radio 1 ADE special, it definitely came out as I hoped it would” says Ronnie

‘Spirits’ brings a pulsating low end with warmth and energy, whilst synth stabs boom alongside the sexy vocal hits, with a truly atmospheric breakdown. ‘Trust Yourself’ is a strong yet subdued track based around a really nice hook, some spoken style vocals and a heavy kick drum. 

"Ronnie is proving to be an unstoppable force, coined by friends and colleagues as “ronstoppable”, his music is powerful and full of swing. A true hero amongst the brave crew and an integral part of our vision" adds Alan.
