It's G-House, Future House & Rave with a little west coast Snoop interlude.  We originally wrote the beat as an instrumental, but when we found HOV's classic "Bounce" for the vocal touch, it all flowed from there.  Working with sounds from the mid-90s, the hook "Sellout" for us immediately became ironic.  Can you write a song with elements from another decade and still be fresh?...or is it selling out? Does it even matter? is the song good? Lol

Anyway, despite the number of connotations behind the song name, we hope you enjoy what matters most...THE CHOOOOON.

TKDJS - Sellout

[Serious mode on] We’re still in the early stages of this journey we’re calling TKDJS, and while we’ve written a bunch of unreleased music, there’s still SO much we want to do. It’s not all bangers and looped beats...we’ve always wanted to make music that is lasting...that has feeling...that tells stories, and is written as a song, first and foremost.  This is the first record down that road for us, and we’re really proud of it.  

We teamed up with the incredibly creative, talented and just all around chill-dude AYER and wrote this song with him over two sessions.  Once in the lab and once in our hometown studio in Brooklyn. “Don’t Leave” is a story about meeting someone new...at a party, at a club, wherever your scene might take you, hitting it off and wanting to spend more time with that person. Unfortunately that’s not how it always ends up. If this has ever happened to you, you know what we mean.

Anyway, we think the track turned out pretty damn good. Give it a listen and hear for yourself.

1) While recording “Don’t Leave” we asked Ayer to sing 2 octaves higher, thinking he’d never be able to, but sure enough he did, and we actually used some of those cuts as accents in the finished track.
2) After every session we do Soulcycle and then Juice Press to sweat it out and decompress. Namaste bro. #kalefam
3) Our dream is to one day move to Bali for 6 months to surf and work on a full album.

TKDJS - Don't Leave ft. AYER

So about a month ago we got a nice surprise in our inbox when Sean Finn and Chris Willis reached out to us asking for an official remix of their new track “So Good.” Sean is a super accomplished DJ out of Germany where he’s had multiple #1 tracks and toured worldwide as a result and Chris is an amazing vocalist and songwriter who’s gotten to be good homies with David Guetta after doing more than a handful of tracks with him which have had a ton of success.

We wanted to put our spin on things, give it some vibes and flow and a fresh serving of house. What came out was a little future pop, future house, deep house, and maaaaybe some hyper future?? haha we’re done with the trying to classify genre things, good music is good music. Sean Finn & Chris Willis - So Good (TKDJS Remix) // Out Now

Those of you who have been following us for some time know that once in a while we like to switch things up. We've done everything from laid-back indie dance tracks to glitchy moombahton, melodic hip hop and whatever other genres we care to make up (see: "Die Happy"). 

For our latest record, we aimed for the dancefloor with our take on a classic piano house track entitled "All I Need". We wrote it last year with London-based singer Beth Aggett who is just amazing tbh. Seriously, check her out! The song is about becoming stronger after a breakup that ended badly but ultimately made you more complete.

We chose to put this one out with a record label (Thrive Music) for the additional support. For that reason we can't give it out for free but if you like the song we hope you'll support it anyway.
