Sweeney Straddles The Sun is the solo project of Glaswegian multi-instrumentalist Jason Sweeney.

On January 4th 2010 he released his debut album 'Erect', which received much critical acclaim despite costing under £100 to record, produce and release.

Reviewers have found it near impossible to categorize his sound, describing it as “straight up rock & roll”, “industrial beat”, “a space age fairground” and more succinctly as “a psychedelic sixties’ feel overlaid with C86 indie pop lo-fi sensibilities.” Comparisons have included The Beta Band, Super Furry Animals, The Magnetic Fields, The Flaming Lips and Psapp.
