Colorado native and bit of a knucklehead growing up. We might make mistakes, but can come back as long as we have a good heart and make it right. Respect each other.

Originally his name was Charles O’neal before being given away at birth shortly after arriving at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois April 21, 1986. Charlie Mays began a battle that would shape his perception of the world. Raised on the Southside he was adopted by a beautiful women by the name of Jesse Mays at age 5 and reunited with his biological brothers Casey and Virgil Mays. In 1994 an unfortunate and tragic event took Jesse's first born Sharon Mays at the age of 19, after that Charlie's family fell apart. He resorted to the streets wanting to live the fast life while still having NBA aspirations. From Illinois to Arkansas then Denver it was a quick and wicked ride that lead the larger than life personality C-Mays front and center.

Jacob Lyle Music is modern clever hip hop which descents from small towns through out Colorado. Honest and soulful sounds along with a simple country background, seem to describe the every day struggles and life long benefits of independent artists in todays age. Blessed with the ability to make music while attending college at Western State University of Colorado in Gunnison, a rural community nestled on the rim of the rocky mountains. While attending, the obsession of music was established after multiple mix tapes and contracts with Eclectic Ink Productions.
