Why Not Y is a pop band that started in a college dorm room in Tallahassee. With backgrounds in classical, jazz, and musical theater, the group creates a new spin on the popular music genre. As of now, they are a totally independent group. All the music is recorded, mixed, written, and produced by the three musicians. Their first single "Young" was released this year on May 15th, and their first EP "The Why Not Y EP" was released on August 27th.

Kelley Kessell has the roles of singer and writer in Why Not Y. A native of Miami, Florida - Kelley studied music and music theater throughout grade school and is a Presidential Scholar in the Arts.

Pio Molina is a violinist, producer, recording and mixing engineer in the group. Also a native of Miami, Florida - Pio has studied classical music since the age of 10 and has played in numerous orchestras.

Ryan Raines is a drummer, keyboardist, producer, recording and mixing engineer in the group. Growing up in the Florida Keys, Ryan started playing piano at age 9 and currently studies jazz drumming and composition.
