Los Angeles's Tom Larsson, DJs and produces colorful, and unconventional house music in addition to helping run Surface Area Records out of Los Angeles. Tom's music embodies the surrealism of Hollywood, Haze of Southern California, and the warmth of Swedish house music. Growing up in Topanga Canyon, a small hippie town known for its surf and 70s classic rock history, Tom has always been surrounded by the bohemian parts of society. In his teenage years, he became obsessed with creating DJ mixes that quickly grew from an obsession into a career, earning his place to play at respected clubs like Riche in Stockholm and Shore Bar in Los Angeles. Growing up with Swedes as parents, Tom was exposed to Swedish classics and more specifically the nostalgic sounds coming from Sweden. Tom's interest in Swedish music grew and eventually landed his full attention in the current Swedish house scene. Today, Tom’s music is a combination of all his exposures, and many would pinpoint it as something that would be released by Studio Barnhus, a record Label in Stockholm Sweden. Tom now resides in Berlin, enrolled at the university, Catalyst, where he is studying Electronic music in the notorious halls of Funkhaus. Tom sounds represent the life of having a Swedish upbringing in Los Angeles, and now the experimental and boundary-pushing nature of Berlin.
