This week’s Local Selection Mix has been provided by David Purcell (Scordor). The Kildare based DJ and producer has provided us with a slamming mix comprised of driven and bouncy techno from start to finish. Sit tight. This gets wild.

Scordor first realised his passion for dance music (most notably techno) from the tender age of 18. Having discovered this vested interested from frequenting Hangar, which led him to start producing dance music from an early age. Since then, he has jolted into the Dublin techno scene. Amassing supports for Remco Beekwilder, Thomas P. Heckmann and SHCHXCHX in the process.

Scordor made his Cellar debut last Saturday alongside Andy MC, P.RAW.N and Jon Hussey for the Embedded takeover in what was a stellar evening from start to finish. It was filled with high-octane techno from the get-go which was a terrific evening filled with quality dance music.

This entry to the Local Selection Mix Series outlines Scordor’s remarkable music taste and even more impressive productions. As you can hear an array of original Scordor material throughout that is both released and unreleased. Accompanied with a slew of mainly old school selections that emulate hard grooves, broken rhythms and tingling percussion. Buckle up!

2022 was a challenging but at least equally fulfilling year for me so far.
After hardly playing nor recording music while dealing with new circumstances in my personal life I am glad that I overcame an episode of artistic numbness and that I am finally able to reconnect with my passion again.

For this mix I am excited to announce that I got the chance to collaborate with Typo.Boy who created the visuals that underline the driving and forceful atmosphere of the music. This being said, the inspiration for the atmosphere in this mix also comes from an ongoing desire to experience intensity, as well as processing the unstable and constant changing living conditions in our modern society.

Intuition Mix 2022

We premiere a track from Copenhagen native BRAVER who features on his newly formed imprint, GAMA with a diverse 4 track EP comprised of dance floor focussed house, techno & electro. We premiere ‘Soul’ a broken electro beat peppered with blistering synths, washed-out pads, and emotive melodies.

Copenhagen’s Mads Lerager, aka BRAVER, is a staple of the Danish capital and has been active in the city’s party scene since 1996, now a part of the Sunday party series and collective Love.Rave.

 Readying a new EP on his and Gabriella Vergilov’s freshly minted GAMA imprint, BRAVER drops four dance floor focused cuts drawing from house, techno, and electro.

We premiere the B2 of BARVER’s ‘Warm Body Cold Soul’ EP, and the track entitled ‘Soul’ see’s the Danish producer ditch four four rhythms for some funked up electro goodness. The track is an emotive closer to a miscellaneous body of work, and it see’s the GAMA boss lean on warm and fluffy melodies, wrapped around a pulsating 808 groove.

For the eleventh release of the Groovebox series by Schimmer Records, the resident Thomas Colin opened up a new world of sound then he usually does. His debut EP in this series „5:00 AM. ON SOMEBODY’S COUCH“ focuses mainly on ambient and experimental breaks, combined with a beautiful atmosphere that creates a warming vibe throughout the EP.
