I first started DJ'ing back in 2002/2003 when I was really in to my hard house, trance, and funky house.
Started on a pair of semi driven Gemini turntables and some Numark mixer. Learnt to beat mix myself, after countless attempts, the beat (penny) dropped.
Once I had become confident in beat mixing and being able to throw a few mixes together I thought time to upgrade to better equipment.
One morning a pair of new Technics 1200 MK5's arrived, and new Pioneer DJM600 in silver. This matched with my amp and speakers and was the perfect bedroom setup.
A few years later tinkering with cars, track days, partying and more importantly my career (IT, nothing music related), I noticed that DJ technology had progressed forward a lot.
Now its all about the digital DJ, whether it be CD, MP3, Traktor, or effect units, its changed; so has my music taste (techno, deep house, tech house, house).
I now play about with Traktor Pro 2, Vestax TR-1 and a cheapo Dell laptop I got from work (it does the job).
