As the seasons change and we've long said "good bye" to the Summer. I've conjured up what I could musically (with the help of #MoMusiq) to create a record that would mesh well with the Autumn time. Not sure how well I've done, but I hope you enjoy the record nonetheless. Ideally, I want my music to speak to you, spark up GOOD feelings, memories & thoughts. If it hasn't or doesn't, then I've failed completely as an artist.

"In The Morning" is a song that simply speaks on the heartbroken. Love ain't always the sweetest thing. When it gets bitter and falls apart, it could leave one lost and confused- many times depressed. I know this, but don't ask me how- I just know haha. Anyway, in this story of a woman in heartache, a friend reaches out to help her through. Relatable or not, you'll know exactly what this record is about.

¡Hola, como estas! haha I know, I know- it's definitely been some time since my last release, but this should let you know I haven't forgotten about YOU, and that I appreciate your patience. FOREAL.

I typically do NOT unofficially remix another artists' work (let alone remix another remix) unless I'm feelin' it THAT much- but in this case, the vibe was right and I really enjoyed Eric Bellinger's rendition, as well as the original record by Kent Jones. I honestly could not help but put everything else aside to create this. Another BIG reason for the remix (to the remix) is to showcase my ability to hang with a Top 40 songwriter- who is Eric Bellinger, and also a Top 40 artist such as Kent Jones; All while representing where I'm from #UTAH, which is who I dedicate this T-MiX to. All my #UTAHANS.

I'm very proud of where I reside as it is a big part of who I am as an artist. And I don't take pride in that just because I was raised here, but because it's also the most UNLIKELY of places for someone like me, a Hip-Hop/R&B songwriter and first generation #Polynesian-American, to be successful in the music industry. 

Anyway, the last time I did something like this was with Drake's "Girls Love Beyonce", and that record came out nearly 2 years ago! 2016 has been a much slower year for me, but the plan is to turn that around starting with this record. Here we are again in the Fall season, this time in year 2016, where football is already underway and the holidays are a foot. Of course I’m coming to you humbly with another SELF-WRiTTEN record. I emphasize on the "self-written” because unfortunately we live in a time where the normality is “artists” don’t write their own shit. Though it’s a debatable subject and many are fine with the fact, I personally disagree with this fawkery- all the more reason to PUSH even harder.

On a brighter note, this latest record is entitled “Ride It Out, Run It Back”. On this record, I lightly touch on my feelings towards the lifestyle as an artist and how I do appreciate it. However, I made the decision not too long ago that I would invest myself in this for the sole purpose of making money. It’s been rough to say the least, but at this point, I’m still faithful in my pursuit- and because of the support from my loved ones and YOU, I remain with my head above water. HERE. Endurance is the name of the game and not so much speed. Although, it does feel as if I’m limited on time haha..

It’s another piece from the heart, so I do hope you appreciate it, just as much I appreciated receiving inspiration from The Most High to create it for you. For the first time, a record of mine will be avail via ALL major streaming services; AppleMusic, Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, etc. As well as all online media outlets, such as; iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc. Come 9/14/2016 ’twill be all yours. Hello, hello! Johnny here, on a brand new day, month, year and chapter- READY to take this music thing to new heights. FOREAL. I come to you this time with a record that may or may not sound ignorant and/or flashy, but that's just how the record manifested itself in the creative process. Anyway, as the song reflects where my mind/heart is, I hope to direct that vibe to YOU, the listener- in hopes that such may inspire, influence, encourage & promote PAWSiTiViTY. Not only that, but this is a statement. A statement to my peers/competition, letting them know that as much as I appreciate their work (and the relationships that have spawned from being apart of this music circle), I'm here with a valid PURPOSE.

TiME will tell which of us are really set apart for GREATNESS and which are not. With the upmost respect, I'm trying to CHANGE THE WORLD- what are YOU here for, if not that? If not that, you may need to re-evaluate your purpose. This is the TRUTH as I have come to believe it. Music is POWERFUL in so many ways- and if you aren't using that power to benefit the people around you and those who come in contact with it, then I'm afraid your contribution carries no value- No TRUE VALUE, I should say. Especially NOW when it seems like anyone can sell records..

Enough pep-talk haha.. Regarding "FANTASTiC.", I've brought on the help of my fellow artists; #KELEGi, #MOMUSiQ & #CHUCCNORRiS..

Kelegi (Terrance, as I call him) is the skill behind my latest artwork; "Ride It Out, Run It Back", my SoudCloud header, avatars across all social media, etc. I've been blessed to have his help with the visual presence of my work- has come in clutch so many times, so I'm very appreciative of his time and effort in bringing the appearance of my work to where it is.. FANTASTiC. Haha..

Mo Musiq (SUPER PRODUCER) and I have developed a great chemistry that allows us to bring to you, what you hear. I haven't been able to duplicate such vibe with any other producer, so the content is authentic in it's feel- I'm very grateful for Mo and his art- Such an OUTSTANDiNG musician he is. But aye- somebody tell him he ain't gonna find an artist better than I on his beats. ON THE REAL! Hahaha..

Chucc Norris is not only a Utah native artist, but he is also of my maternity bloodline (#TUiTA). Though Chucc may be new to you, he's actually been with me since I first started years ago. My brother will soon have his debut single ready come 2017, so be on the lookout, my friends. I vouch for his sound, so take my word for it- you already know I'm good for it haha..

This was my last release of 2016- now avail for the NEW YEAR of 2017. Like I've mentioned before, 'twas a slow year for me (2016), but it ain't nothin' a yoko like me can't bounce back from. I'm here for a REASON- and you're favorite artist is only here for now. TRUST & BELiEVE. Thank you all ever so much. I LOVE YOU for your LOVE and support. UP n' UP YASELF!

Congratulations! Your being here means that you liked the first track of the Dark Horse Double, and are now engaging in the listening of the second and final record.  So I'm glad you're here. Thank you for that.

This time around, I wanted to try something different. Instead of playin' it safe with just a single, I decided to go with a 2-song release. I have many shelved records, but I've found that releasing singles don't leave much room for any of 'em to be unappreciated or unnoticed. I put countless hours into these 3-4 minute songs, and I feel they're better received and even better understood when released one at a time.

People frequently ask if I'm goin' to release an album anytime soon. TRUTH is I have enough of my own music to make up a FEW albums, but I've grown very fond of my current process. Not only that, it's been doin' quite well for me these recent years- so why fix what ain't broken? Maybe I will release an album, maybe I won't. The luxury of being independent (which I know I'm overbearing with the fact, but frankly I don't give a shit) is that I do what I want, when I want & how I want. I pride myself in that freedom. Everybody wanna sign (their life away) to a label because they don't wanna get the work done themselves. I actually do this, NOT just look like it- that's more than what a lot of fellow "artists" can say. More than likely your favorite one.

The reason I bring these points up is because they play a big roll in what you're hearing. "You Get It All", as well as every one of my other songs that you've heard, are brief insights to who I am and what I experience- and of course they're mingled with bits of imagination & creativity. The good, the bad & the ugly, transparent in all my work. The more hands that may become involved with MY music, the more MY music loses its credence, substance and rawness- and I won't have that.

More onto the song itself, the "You Get It All" concept is based on a one-sided relationship. Mind you, all relationships are one-sided at one point or another (least that's what I believe haha)- there's a lot of give & take, as they say. Throughout the song you'll hear that I'm takin' shots at my woman, but I thought it was only right to twist it up towards the end. Even left an unintentional freestyle in the damn thang haha.

That is all for now, my people. I continue to do what I love because of your support. I'm flawed in many ways, but you definitely got a toko stuck in his own grandeur at times, which is not good for the fire, but feels good regardless. Thank you and BLESSAWP 10FOLD.
