Groningen-based @convoluteofficial made a first appearance in our store earlier this year with his 'Everyday In My Life EP' on @ocultismo. On top of that, he has just released another outstanding EP on Fauxpas Musik. For this latest edition of our podcast series, he recorded a first ever live set, exclusively featuring unreleased own productions. Over the course of one hour, you will be taken on an introspective journey, blending deeply emotional and atmospheric house and techno. Highly recommended! If anybody would know the definition of Funk, it would be Olle Abstract. He’s been a fundamental force in Oslo’s DJ and House community, and has been a stalwart supporter of the scene throughout his career in Radio and behind the booth. He’s been a dominant figure for House in Norway, from his legendary events at Skansen, to his more recent work behind the LYD podcast and events concept at Jaeger.  A larger than life character both in person and in the booth, Olle Abstract always leaves a severe impression whenever you encounter him.

Today he’s a Jaeger resident, but his dance card is always full and as a DJ he can go everywhere from underground Techno to chart music, depending on the context. Whenever he’s in the booth on a Saturday for LYD, he can effortlessly bridge that gap between the mainstream and the more obscure, functional corners of House music, between his bookings and his sets.

He joins Ivaylo for the third time as our esteemed Jaeger mix guest on this occasion. The last time he was with us he indulged the Sunday mood in our basement with a tempered ambient listening set, but on this edition of the mix series, he turns the heat up and takes us on an energetic journey through classic- and modern House music. With the sun hanging in the air till well after his mix, Olle played to the summer vibe, and catered towards those first hesitant steps towards the dance floor

Playing his way from Masters at Work’s “The Time Is Now” all the way to the “Pleasure Dome” and Frankie goes to Hollywood, Olle Abstract keeps it strictly House, staying  funky and soulful for the duration of the mix. Gospel vocals, deep grooves and hi-energy beats illicit a toe-tapping response in Abstract’s latest mix, a complete contrast from the last mix, playing to the summer mood in our courtyard.

Vari Loves’ Jaeger Mix appears out of a misty haze of soft vocals and sustained guitars, before big drums rumble out of the heart of the track in tempered staccato bursts. The Osl DJo completely disarms the listener with a soft, welcoming introduction before she streaks her way through a selection of tracks in the aim to narrate the course of a party through this hour.

Vari Loves is Kristin Ernstsen, a central figure in Oslo’s music scene who spends most of her time engaged in promoting artists, and when she needs a break from that, the booth beckons. She’s is a prominent DJ on the circuit, manipulating soulful soundscapes with a tender touch through mixes anchored in the fundamentals of House, Electro and Techno. 

It’s the same for her second edition of our Jaeger mix series, but here she compresses the ebb and tide of a night down to an hour with an acute precision and a seductive mood lingering on the tonal qualities of the mix. Soft vocals, effervescent melodies and deep rhythms, lure the listener into the soft enclosures of Vari Loves sounds.

It’s a mix that breaches that opaque distance between the start of a night and the dance floor, and between the sweeping pads and driving, yet subtle percussive progressions through her mix it’s a mix that can also live on beyond the dance floor through the mixtape format.

The Jaeger Mix is Oslo’s monthly ritual for deep listening and dance floor exploration, a midweek club night that doubles as a living archive of the city’s underground.
Taking place on select Wednesdays, the series pairs Jaeger resident Ivaylo with a rotating cast of DJs, producers, and live acts, capturing the sound of the night and preserving it as part of Jaeger’s ongoing story.
Each session is recorded in the club, followed by an interview with the guest, and later published as a feature on jaegeroslo.no - In this way, the Jaeger Mix lives beyond the dance floor — a document of Oslo’s electronic music culture, framed both in sound and in words.
Guiding the series is Ivaylo, a Bulgarian-born, Oslo-based DJ, producer, and curator. A long-standing Jaeger resident, label manager for Full Pupp, and founder of Lab Cleaning Jams, he has spent decades shaping Nordic club culture with his deep, soulful, and uncompromising approach to house and techno. His role in the Jaeger Mix is less about the spotlight and more about curation — weaving his own sets together with those of guests to tell the evolving story of the dance floor.
The Jaeger Mix stands as both a celebration of the present and a chronicle for the future, mapping Oslo’s nightlife one night, one mix, and one conversation at a time.
