A new Oslo label is on everyones lips. ´Lab Cleaning Jams´ is a genre free label, an open playground for music lovers on all sides of the fence. Founded and run by Ivaylo, the label will dance its way thru a wide range of club genres from Jazz to techno and everything in between. The first package of organic jams are ready, with ´Jam 3´ showing the more laidback dubby side of jazz, with references to both 90s triphop and that filmatic 70s NYC street life feeling.

There was more than meets the eye when it came to the city. For strange wonders lurked in places unexpected. Behind closed doors there was music to be made, a new kind of noise which would soon travel the world bringing hope and a sense of resistance to the chosen few who sought to hear it.

For this was like nothing which had ever come before. How could it be after all the great city had been through? The trials and tribulations were rooted in the DNA of the music itself. Detroit, a belongingness to the sound of a city which has burnt its bridges and risen from the ashes once more.

Ivaylo is set to release a new EP on Lab Cleaning Jams, a record which features a rugged slice of Detroit Electro Funk, reminiscent of the old school era. It is rounded off with a remix from Christian Engh.

Deep dubby organic house, slightly reminding of early works from northern producers like Illumination and Biosphere. Loopy smooth percussion filled with funky stabs and random spoken words. We would not be surprised to see this amazing track fit into the recordbags of main players such as Move D and Ricardo. Yet another quality release from Oslo producer Ivaylo and his vault label Lab Cleaning Jams.

Romjulsfestivalen might seem like a whole other lifetime ago, but it was in fact only a week and a bit since we were getting down to the sounds of Leo Woelfel in our basement. The German native and head of the rtct.records label out of Innsbruck, accompanied the disco-skrangle sounds of Svømmebasseng with a Deep House set, featuring a diverse assemblage of sonic temperaments and moods. Elements of Jazz, Afro and Exotica meld in perfect harmony with elements of 4/4 House and Disco in Woelfel’s mix, which seems a distant memory today intersected by a New Years eve and another DJ Maraton. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves just quite yet and savour the moment for just a little bit longer as we relive the experience with Leo Woelfel and this live recording from the night.

The jaeger mix returns! It’s a new and improved version, including live acts, live streaming and of course the recorded mix sessions by some of Oslo’s most enduring and hotly anticipated DJs and producers. Moving to select Wednesdays, the Jaeger mix or Æ Mix  finds a new home with resident DJ Ivaylo at the helm of his residency once again. Living beyond the immediate and documenting Jaeger’s sound, the Jaeger Mix series is a club night and a recorded mix series. Ivaylo programmes a journey into the deepest recesses of club music and beyond with selected guests, a Kodak moment in time of club music in Oslo.
