You're greeted by an unexpected, instantly hip-loosening, expertly delivered yet oh-so-casual set that makes you want to dance into eternity. A nimble ride across the keyboard of contemporary and timeless sounds, from organic-melodic house and disco to soulful techno. You need to know who's controlling the knobs here. You dance towards the DJ booth. Who do you see behind the turntables? Filburt.

His sets, oscillating between turntablism and beatmatching expertise, mindful of his style horizon merging in the grand formula of the dance floor, are no longer merely a regional phenomenon. As 50% of Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt and also as a producer/DJ solo act, Filburt's sphere of influence has expanded nationally and internationally in recent years.

As the former owner of the renowned Leipzig vinyl dealer Freezone Records and the proprietor of the enthusiast label ORS, he was or is active at all possible junctions of the scene. The experience behind the decks and in the periphery has been honing his sense for the perfect club track for years. Numerous expressions of this feeling for house and everything adjacent have already been released on labels such as Permanent Vacation, LiebeDetail, Mirau, Dirt Crew, Compost, and Riotvan.

Soul Clap

Earlier this month Elyte and Cnyce’s interstellar Soul Clap ship descended on Jæger with the full force of Sun Ra’s most cosmic determination. Holled up in our basement the entire night, they brought the might of a Bootsy Collins platform down on Oslo, with their Funk-determined vision of an electronic future narrated by Mad Max.
Captivating and energetic, their set skated through dance music from the 70’s to the present on a celestial trajectory where no man has ventured before, their destination set to mark the release of their latest- and second album, “Soul Clap”. Like “EFUNK” before it this latest album is a highly intoxicating punchbowl of musical influences concocted from the group’s most primal experiences on the dance floor, distilled for your most hedonistic listening pleasures.
Tracing a line from their Funk roots, with syncopated, bouncing live drums, oozing cool bass-lines, and vocals that call out at you from some foggy hazy corned of a dance floor like a siren song, Soul Clap is undeniably a soul Clap album from cover to cover, while at the same time plotting perhaps a new orbit for the Soul Clap ship.

Recorded Live at 694 Wine Bar in Chicago on 10/30/2016 for Nu: Outer Space Dancing Society of Chicago. This was also a closing party for the venue. Recorded on 2 Technics, 2 CDJs, and a Pioneer DJM900. Unreleased tracks by myself, Sleazy McQueen, Karizma, and more, including some rare gems and test pressings from the past, and some fantastic new releases.
