Any system of ethics that doesn’t favor compassion is ridiculous at best and fascist at worst. People will use any excuse in the book to keep their hate filled mindsets intact. I mean have you ever heard of having actual human decency? Ever hear about compassion? Just being fucking nice?

Call the Name is inspired by the near-death experience of Howard Storm, an atheist art professor who collapsed in a Paris hospital in 1985. During clinical death, Storm reported leaving his body, being deceived and drawn into a dark, hostile realm, and experiencing torment that reflected a life driven by ego and selfishness. After calling out to Jesus, he described being rescued by beings of light, undergoing a life review centered on how he treated others, and returning with a lasting message: that love, not belief or status, is what ultimately matters.

Storm later documented the experience in My Descent into Death and went on to become a Christian pastor. While interpretations of his experience vary—particularly the hell imagery—his account is widely cited for its emphasis on accountability, humility, and love.
