[BOG 08] Lucid Distraction - Ridin' EP

The BogoRecs team is back! With the same spice and love, we're glad to present u all the first of a series of releases we have already wrapped up for this year! The first: Native Boundaries head honcho, Lucid Distraction, directly from Los Angeles, hits the Bogoture Recs HQ with his EP, Ridin', surprisingly good, first class electro, breakbeat, junglist bombs that blew our minds, our monitors and our hearts and that's for sure.

The EP comes in a very fresh and sturdy presentation of 3 original tracks + 3 remixes from Mister Sticktalk, Trópico Frío (Bogoture's head honcho) and User Delusion, ready to corrupt any wild hearted, with amazing rave tools that would very possibly, suit ur biohazard dancefloor expectations!

The release gathers 3 original tracks with pretty potent and fully-sharpened electro/breakbeat/jungle classic sound, with incredible layers, mix, color and warmth, resulting in highly dynamic gems from dancefloor breakers to deeply refined mental journeys into the sweetness of the oldschool lofi sound.

It's always lovely to be back, and much more exciting with such amazing music from such wonderful artists & friends. We''ll keep the boat floating, or maybe we will rip apart the waves as Nautilus does, who knows? The only thing we knoe is we do it because we love it. For creation, for music, for imagination, for magic within our hearts in a world that sometimes goes too fast! Let's keep the motor Rrrumbling!

Hidden in the shadow of this room, Jauzas looks himself in a broken mirror but he doesn't recognise himself, he doesn't remember ......the only thing he knowns is that he's now on board the nautilus ship, deeper and deeper is an ocean of sounds ...Artificial lights, mechanical noise and metallic walls..He starts hearing these voices but he doesn't know who they belong to? Utilising his sickness on skyzophrenic beats and abstract electronic dark side, he became"Jauzas the shining” 

The mysterious and miraculous journey of Jauzas who spent his nights and days on Formentera. Here he conjures up a concoction of deep ocean meanderings and spellbound nights, underneath the shooting stars and radiant waters. Images of the past merged with future, becoming a collage of voices across projected shapes which make presence in their ghostlike form. 
This is another outing which explores the surreal and the abstract, which expressed though Jauzas’s electro-musicalities with Specimen.

01 Blinder

Silicon Scally, the alias of electronic music producer Carl Finlow, released his critically acclaimed album 'Mr Machine' in 2002 on SCSI-AV.  The album was a masterful blend of electro and sci-fi soundscapes, showcasing Finlow's unique style and production prowess, which took the listener on a journey through a futuristic world.  It ranks as one of the finest electro records of the early noughties.

Fast-forward to 2023 and Sync 24's Cultivated Electronics label is proud to present 'Mr Machine PT 2'.  Like its predecessor, it is filled with intricate synth melodies, driving rhythms, and pulsating basslines, all perfectly balanced to create an immersive listening experience.

'Mr Machine PT 2' once again showcases Finlow's ability to not only create relentless beats for the dancefloor but also dynamic soundscapes that transport the listener to another world.  Created using a mixture of both old analog gear and plugins, both albums were written with a very strong emphasis on the machine aesthetic, reflecting the cutting edge of what was available at their respective times.

🔊Quick vent: SoundCloud just sent us an email saying they deleted a comment we made 3 and a half months ago for “hate speech” stuff which we never did 😤 We tried to reply but it’s a no-reply and their bot Otto is useless… we just wanted to see what text they thought was bad but gave up. Honestly, we’re not rushing to renew Artist Pro anytime soon.
👉Edit: we finally managed to get in touch with Mr. Otto AI and open a dispute ticket. In the meantime, the removed comments have become two!!! And we have no idea what they said! Obviously, nothing illegal! We’ll keep you updated.
🔊🤦🏻‍♀️Update: Here’s SoundCloud support’s reply: "We do not keep a history of deleted comments. Moving forward, please remember to adhere to the Community Guidelines as we want SoundCloud to remain a safe space for all users." Absolutely unsatisfactory! Basically, they’re telling us that we broke the Community Guidelines, which we never did! Practical advice: from now on, it’s better to take a screenshot of the comments on every song we publish. We repeat, our desire to renew the Artist Pro plan has completely faded because of technical issues (like tracks not being monetized for no reason), “misunderstandings” (let’s call them that), and other stuff. We’ll renew it only for the sake of continuing to release music freely, but come on, SC team, not keeping a history of deleted comments is a seriously bad move!! 🤔

Anyway, enjoy the track and sorry for the rant, probably not the best place for it 😅

“It was right after midnight as Dr. Polig headed towards the Isolated Testing Facility at Dexta
Biolabs. Government orders had called for the immediate destruction of samples TR-38 – organic
molecules of possibly alien origin, sourced from a meteorite impact site in northern Alaska. The
samples were presently spread across 44 petri dishes at the ITF, and Polig accelerated his
steps, resentful of the bureaucratic twaddle which had kept him busy for hours.

As he approached the facility he noticed something was out of place. The containment lab's
security door had been left wide open, and the shift supervisor was not at his desk. Before any
of this could sink in, another detail caught his eye: A faint blue glow was emanating from
behind the airlock door...”

Four tracks of jacking outsider electro have escaped Lok44's petri dish and make up '44problems', the artist's fourth EP for TRUST. Praised for his inventive style ever since his sought-after 2003 debut 'Ghetto Of The Mind', Lok44 continues to defy conventions - from infectiously
