In the wake of a weighty mix series and a sell-out Bristol show, Sudo Sound are here with another killer EP. Take the Lead is a well-matched pairing between a rising label and an established name - none other than Chord Marauder corner stone Jafu

Whilst the Canadian artist has worked with the likes of Geode, J. Sparrow, Kodama and Congi, his personal discography bears enough merit alone to cement his name in the scene for good.

Take the Lead comes a year after Jafu’s 26 track LP Stack City (Chord Marauders) and carries the same originality and sonic dexterity whilst leaning more towards the firmly dub-oriented feel that Sudo Sound has been championing in recent years.

The EP exemplifies Jafu’s ability to artfully present playful melodies, radical drum patterning and far-out sonics without pretence. Melodic progressions are anchored to head-nodding percussion and smile-inducing licks – explorations in sound that carry a modern edge whilst paying respects to the techniques and experimentalism typified by dub music’s originators.

-Its been more than a year now since our last compilation dropped. Meanwhile We all went through some crazy times. some of us were affected more and some less.
In colombia the people are affected hardly. Not only by covid. Even more by the violence and corruption of their government.
In early 2021 Demonstrators were speaking out about structural inequality, poverty, land reform, police violence, health care, and lack of education and opportunity
a lot of these problems have existed in Colombia for years, but they deepened dramatically during the pandemic.
Police responded by repeatedly and arbitrarily dispersing peaceful demonstrations and using excessive, often brutal, force, including live ammunition.
Multiple killings by police, as well as beatings, sexual abuse, and arbitrary detention of demonstrators and bystanders are documented.
Most of these things are still an actual problem.
In order to support the fight agianst the violence by the colombian government we made this compilation.
