Kingston, Jamaica’s MC supergroup, The Council, has enlisted Reggae’s recent stars for its newly available fifth and final single from its album, Nothing Else Matters, scheduled for release on September 29. The new song, titled Misery, features longtime collaborators Koro Fyah, Kabaka Pyramid and Massy the Creator who join the crew for an epic, authentic fusion of boom bap Hip Hop and roots Reggae, laced with social commentary and messages of reparation and repatriation. 

Misery – produced by Inztinkz, like all other tracks on The Council’s album – features poignant and potent verses from Massy the Creator, The Sickest Drama, Kabaka Pyramid and Five Steez, with Koro Fyah delivering the hook, lambasting the system.

“This song is just another realm of what we have to offer on Nothing Else Matters, thematically and sonically,” says Inztinkz. “Compared to our last single, this is like a flipside.”

Starting with Council Arts in September 2015, The Council released a series of singles including The Final Countdown, Valhalla Doctrine (featuring Tha God Fahim), and the most recent one, Promised Land (featuring J Militia), in March of this year.

Nothing Else Matters will be finally released exclusively via Bandcamp on Friday, September 29, and will be rolled out across other digital outlets and in physical form during the following months.

The Council, which comprises Inztinkz, The Sickest Drama, Nomad Carlos and Five Steez, is Kingston’s champion team for the Hip Hop culture, maintaining a consistent presence in the city’s underground scene for over a decade as solo acts and organizers of Hip Hop events.

I once had a dream that transported me beyond the realms of reality. Imagine soaring through the sky, perched upon a fluffy cloud, engaged in vibrant conversation with Bob Marley. It was in that moment of surreal clarity that I realized something profound—I hadn't yet shared my deepest passion: my music. Thus, I made a resolute decision to unveil the culmination of years of dedication and artistic investment stored within my laptop.

Hailing from the picturesque French Alps, my journey in music began back in 1998, amidst the captivating sounds of Riva Hifi and Reverse Side Sound. Over the years, I've evolved into a versatile artist—a selector with an eclectic collection of records, a DJ adept in the rub-a-dub style, and a skilled dub maker. Beyond music, I express myself as a drawer, a painter, and a digital graphic artist.

Crafting my compositions involves a symphony of talents—I wield the bass and guitar, orchestrate intricate drum sequences, and meticulously refine each track through digital mixing and mastering. My creative palette draws inspiration from a diverse array of musical luminaries including Lee Scratch Perry, Beastie Boys, Mad Professor, Bad Brains, and the legendary Bob Marley. Yet, it's the camaraderie with my peers, such as Soul Doctor and Mineral K, that enriches my musical perspective.

Despite facing the challenge of deafness, my sonic sensibilities remain razor-sharp, infusing each note with palpable intensity and emotion. In live sessions, the essence of Reverse Side productions comes to life, as we unveil a repertoire brimming with original songs, dubs, and bespoke productions.

My journey has intertwined with the trajectories of both modern icons and revered legends in the realms of reggae and hip-hop. Sharing stages with luminaries like Afu Ra, General Levy, and Queen Omega, I've traversed continents, leaving an indelible mark on audiences worldwide. Collaborating with esteemed sound systems, I've embraced the ethos of Words, Sound, Power—ready to ignite hearts and minds with the transcendent force of music.

So, as I continue to dream and manifest my visions into reality, I invite you to join me on this exhilarating voyage—a journey where reverie meets innovation, and where every beat resonates with the promise of boundless possibility.
