The 'Govindam prayers' the first few verses of the ancient Brahma Samhita prayer have been immortalised by Srimati Yamuna Devi, who sang the lead in a recording produced by and featuring George Harrison in 1970. The prayer is played daily at 7am in hundreds of ISKCON temples worldwide, and has been a source of inspiration and spiritual strength for millions. 

At this last rites ceremony at Keshi Ghat in Vrindavan, where her ashes were placed in the sacred Yamuna river, girls standing at the bank broke spontaneously into song when the rites had concluded. The mood was full of longing and gratitude, and no one wanted to leave.
