The original founding members of the sound were Itchy Gunz, Black Foot, Crocket, G & Willie Agart. Before the sound was called Spotlight during the late 80's, the sound had different names like Digi Quest & Unity International.
Names were changed for several reasons, because there was another Unity around at that time. One of the most important part of the sounds history was being able to be one of the first sounds in New York to voice Buju Banton on Dub Plate at the beginning of his career in ‘92 at the legendary Arrows studio. After some of the original members retired then came a new wave, Madting, Zest, Saw, Grindz, Sampler, Bandit, Hov & Styles. Now after years of hard work and dedication, Spotlight Sound is being recognized as one of the hottest up and coming sounds in the business.
