This is a composition that brings me back the memories of dark nights in the country side of Chile, watching the amazing stars of the south. Every time I go there I wait for a clear sky night: that's the perfect moment to look at the galaxy's spectacle of lights.

Thanks to one of my valued SC friends @naturesautonomus , i encouraged myself and took all what it takes and signed the online producing course with Andrew Huang on this learnmonthly.com site.

Very tight deadlines to meet and alot of new stuff to learn. I really recommend it! Its exhausting but sooo worth it.

This is the first out of three tracks which i have to produce while doing this course. I hope you enjoy it as much as i "enjoyed" going for a very crazy alien invasion listening experience.

You can think of it in many different ways, but the main idea behind that, which kinda evolved during this brand new production and arranging and mixing and mastering process, is, that the aliens kinda funk their way from one capital to the next and just erase us. 

The peak in the song where the crazy additional synth joins the fun - you kinda want to imagine all those little nasty aliens up in the ship celebrating their desctructive hovering "march" to erase all humankind. Ain't that fun?! Haha!

Invasion

Andrew Huangs learnmonthly Song #2. This thing pushed me to a place where i never thought i might end up. Recording dozens of samples, slicing, eqing, manipulating stuff in various directions, going full crazy with delay reverb, building out of the scratch a synth patch for base and chords and tweaked up to a point where the stereo field does not longer exist , where there were just sonic waves everywhere in my head......

I really hope you enjoy this piece more than the moments where i felt so dead and exhausted and empty inside.

As this being some kind of private work - i called it homework, as i took this baby from home, where i recorded the samples, on my fiances laptop in to my holidays. built like crazy while we were on vacation...... but again... i learned so much like mastering my daw more and more and tons of other stuff. im still thankful that i push myself so hard this month. for me, for you, just for the love of and for music <3

-took me *10 hours to slice, eq and categorize
-mostly recorded kitchen stuff, about 80-90% 
-wasted 3 nights going too big with too many rythm variations , cried,                           dumped the old sh#t and started over (funny how pressured creativity works..)
-aged drastically during this #2 project
-big cred and thanks to the love of my life for supporting as well as serving gallons of tea to ease my exhausted mind and body

This track is inspired by an old piece from 1982, which we played in my third Band. At that time we were enthusiastic and wanted to make music as a living. But we all ended up somewhere else, only our singer made it, as he joined Pink Cream 69 and later Helloween, where they are playing the big festivals till today :-)
I myself had stopped playing at all, focused on my profession and touched only the acoustic guitar from time to time. My Marshall JCM 800 and my Fender were becoming more and more living room Accessoires and were nicely looking hanging untouched at the wall. In 2015 my son woke up music in me again, when he came to me playing a song he had created with GarageBand on an iPad. Then the guitar flame started to burn again and finally the result you can listen here. I hope you enjoy it.

I wrote this song back in 2007, when this single girl lived above my condo. She called the cops on me 13 times over the year and a half that she lived there. The first time, I was just playing an acoustic guitar at 8pm on a Tuesday. She once complained to me that she could hear me talk on the telephone. Come on lady, I'm alive. The cops used to come over so often, we started recognizing each other. I offered them in for a beer on more than one occasion. One of them noticed my Les Paul and told me he had one at home just like it. She had me questioning my life choices on more than one occasion, but come on. Can't make everybody happy all the time...

This is my first release of 2021 and its a song about missing things we used to be able to do in life.
I have a longing to see live performance again and miss the clubs and venues and of course travel.
We are in danger of entering a cultural apocalypse devoid of live music venues and festivals and tours if this pandemic lasts a long time we must somehow adapt as theres no time to lie down and fade 
away otherwise the music and good times will fade away as just a memory

Apricity, literally 'the warmth of the winter sun', is an orchestral-ambient work and a collab with https://soundcloud.com/echosonica. I had an idea to make a classical orchestral dronescape. I heard Elena's ambient tracks and believed we could make something different. Given airy, diverging atmospheric pad layers, I then wrote the orchestral lines on top. I used evolving, dynamic string articulations and non-traditional wind and brass articulations to give an evolving, evocative soundscape with themes of light and dark and how despair converges into hope.. 

The whole work is on BandCamp and Spotify later. I used mostly Spitfire Audio software including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Felted Piano, Orchestral Swarms, and Eric Whitacre Choir. This is my first true ambient work.

Apricity

Composer and music producer based in Santiago, Chile.
I mix elements of modern classical, electronic and ambient music mainly. I call it "cinematic" since to me it generates imaginary spaces or images, just like movies. One of my biggest sources of inspiration are the landscapes and nature from my homeland.
I also work making music for audiovisual mediums, such as video games and films.
