"Electric Beatles" is dedicated to my classmates from Berklee College of Music, especially my graduating class of 2014.  I continue to be inspired by their abundant talent and creativity, and their willingness to take musical risks.  

This song was inspired by Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles."  I stuck with the original theme and feel of the song, then after improving for a bit, I decided to take it to an entirely different place with rock-style electric violin.

Electric Beatles (inspired by Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles")

"The Bird for String Quartet" is a song from my musical experiment, The ReMix Tape.  It was inspired by Anderson .Paak's "The Bird," and I arranged it in a string quartet style with a piano accompaniment and added percussion after a few measures to get it into a groove.  It was intended to imitate what sometimes happens when a group of musicians starts a song that maybe they've never played together before, other musicians are added in, then by the end it all clicks.

Gnaws"" is a track from my musical experiment, The ReMix Tape.  It was inspired by Rae Sremmurd's "Swang,"and I took a slightly different approach with this one than I did with most of the other tracks.  With "Gnaws," I decided to focus more on my production skills than my violin skills.

"Put Em Higher" was perhaps one of the most fun songs to record out of all the tracks on The ReMix Tape.  It was inspired by IshDARR's "Bandits."  This one is a lot of improv jazz violin over modulated versions of the original chord progressions.

In the summer of 2014, the Momenta Quartet and I spent a week at Avaloch Farm Music Institute working on the beginning of a new String Quartet. Surrounded by apple orchards at this professional musician’s retreat, musicians rehearsed all day, took walks through the woods, and spent evenings listening to each other perform. There, time slowed and was reflected in the stillness of clouds hovering over a nearby lake.String Quartet: In Irish Mythology, Emhain Abhlach (pronounced similar to Avaloch) is an island paradise of everlasting beauty whose residents danced the days away. 

String Quartet: Avaloch is a single, fifteen-minute long movement. The work is dedicated to Alfred Tauber and Deborah Sherr, who had the combined vision to create an amazing place for performers and composers to unite in the creation of new and important musical works.
