'Cacao Dance' is a message for sharing positive vibrations and connecting through the power of music, dance and cacao. The compilation is an offering in conjunction with a growing movement of alternative dance spaces that incorporate ceremony and alcohol free containers.

Loin, par delà les bordures du monde connu, l’Octavius sillonnait les mers; pillant et saccageant tout sur son chemin. Son capitaine était le plus terrifiant pirate que la terre ait portée. La légende raconte qu'il fut investi d'un pouvoir abject, et que Neptune en personne l'avait maudit pour ses affronts. 

Le Navire fut retrouvé des décennies plus tard, pris dans les terres gelées du Nord. L'équipage, éteint à jamais, était comme figé par la glace et le corps du capitaine, toujours la plume à la main écrivait ces derniers mots dans son journal de bord: "Je me vengerais".

I've played it occasionally since 2006 at ecstatic dance events and special events that are open to that emotive space. Embarking on their second collaborative endeavor, the Italian beat makers and multi- instrumentalists, Halfred and Lo.Renzo further solidify their close working relationship with their first EP as Jakare. Released on Desert Trax, Jakare’s ‘Apu’ EP is the culmination of all that’s dear about both artists’ creative vision, blending intricate technical design with melodic tenderness and biophilic atmospherics. The artists’ choice to pursue these new avenues of shamanic downtempo music reflects their willingness to start afresh under a new alias and pursue experimentation without the pre- conceived associations with their solo projects. 

In the course of four songs, the duo paint a truly vivid picture of ancient life in nature and taking inspiration from different modern cultures; from the slight nod to the bluesy Latin American marshes of ‘Cleansing’, Andean flavors on ‘Glass Temple’, the instrumental grooves of ‘GloBall’ and aquatic night time swims in ‘Moon Howl’, the EP stays consistent in its overall aesthetic and harmoniousness throughout. The duo utilize charango, classic guitars, electric guitar, pan flute, shakers, percussions to bring the organic sound, while relying on their masterful sound design techniques to develop cinematic field-recording- based atmospherics.
