Short yet decadently sweet, moirèsun’s remix of the Ta-ku, matt mcwaters, and Masego jam “Flight 99” is a journey in itself. Fitting for a track about flying, moirèsun put together his remix “during the height of the COVID lockdowns, daydreaming about getting away.” 

Throwing sped-up hip-hop drums, syrupy bass, and airy synths over Masego’s croons, moirèsun’s rendition of “Flight 99” soars, with a smooth takeoff and landing to book-end the flight. “Flight 99 Remixes” Ltd 7" EP arrives on Oct 21.

London has a lot of soul. Unbeknown to many, there's a brimming school of young artists striding in the footprints left by the likes of Omar, Sade and other seasoned, UK neo-soul veterans. Ego Ella May is one of the most promising graduates, endorsed by Mr. "There's Nothing Like This" and strapped with a growing discography that now includes the Zero EP. Released earlier this month, it's three songs of cocoa butter smooth R&B with plenty of Ego's vocal prowess moisturised across it.

MNDSGN massages his own charm into the remix of "Tea & Sympathy" - a tale about sorry being the hardest way. Out goes the South American shuffle of the Budgie-produced original, and in comes ample amounts of Sunday morning chill courtesy of a sauntering organ melody.

It's been about 2 years now that we've been playing this track from the modest and ridiculously talented LP aka Lisa Preston who hails from Wellington, New Zealand. Lisa is known for her singing but stepped away and layered Marvin's vocals with some beautiful percussion, drums, and keys. It wasn't until Soulection Radio Show #115 that we were reminded of how amazing and timeless this Marvin Gaye edit truly is. We then realized that it was never released and decided that we needed to change that. Here we are! Another quality & free gem for you here in 2013. This is yet another reason why we are here to take over. The world needs more quality vibes. Spread this if you feel it. 

"This track is about 7 years old now !  ha ha .... the stems to Marvin Gaye's "What going on" were floating around the internet and everyone in Wellington with an MPC seemed to be making re-edits of the tune. I was pretty novice on the MPC , still am (!) but thought it might be nice to blend some of the percussion from that tune with an acapella I had of 'Sexual Healing'. I had some nice rhodes samples that I'd cut up in my MPC so just kinda fooled around with it and got a nice lil groove going on and here we are years down the line =)"
