i think we at jakarta records have been fans of benny sings for more then a decade. he easily has two albums in our all time top 10 so we're more then happy to be releasing his new album "STUDIO" together with the homies from dox. the album is mixed by stones throw's step kids.

some weeks ago we met goldlink at a festival in amsterdam and had a chat with im backstage and it turned out that just like mayer hawthorne and rick rubin he shares our passion for benny's music so it only makes sense to have him on "you and me" and as one of only two feature guests on "STUDIO".

"I grew up listening to men rap about women for men. Outside of Tupac and Common, I rarely heard a song about love that reflected my experience with a woman. Unless it was talking about the negatives of a relationship.  As I started trying to write these songs, mad friends and collaborators would get weird about it. They’d get uncomfortable and push their own insecurity when I started talking about my experience with women I’ve been with on the track.
