This is a piece I wrote many years ago, and recorded this duet with myself on Mandolin, and my good friend Allan Cook on Guitar.

I uploaded this piece some time ago as private, and shared with a few people whom I have come to be friends with here on SoundCloud, but have decided to release it publicly, at the urging of one such friend, Liz Dicker (Thank You Liz).

This is a special piece to me, as I wrote it when I was much younger, about 20 or so. In addition, my sister Kristina requested it for her wedding in place of traditional music.

It was also a defining moment, when Allan and I realized we had a special musical connection. I wrote the mandolin part, and when I showed him what I had written, he picked up his acoustic guitar, and like magic, he just knew what to play to perfectly accompany what I had written. This was not the only time this was evident, but it was the first time it was crystal clear to us both.

This recording is an excerpt from an extended improvised jam session we had with other friends, and for which he has the entire recording on his channel. It was recorded informally, and as a live performance, or perhaps better described as a group of musical friends having fun. We opened the recording with Allan and I playing this piece, and then went where the wind took us from there.

I had a really good time mixing this, So good that I failed yet again! to go to sleep, I'm having trouble remembering 😹 not since I woke up last Friday morning!!! I spent most of yesterday evening on Bandcamp listening to new tracks to buy (I found lots!) and that kept me busy until well after midnight.
I was fairly certain that I'd found some really good stuff and was so excited that I simply had to have a mix, and given the lateness of the hour, I had to do the mix entirely in my headphones, which is something I've always found difficult, I couldn't ever do that when I mixed with vinyl! and only recently discovered that I could do it, which is amazing, as now I can mix any time I want 😜
I think that the real reason I was so excited was that I had some new tracks and remix's by Sasha, who is quite simply an astounding DJ and Producer, and that lead me to buy some great tunes from the Last night on earth label.
I am very happy with this mix, and believe it is consistent throughout, three tracks playing most of the time, until the end, which is a four track Charlotte De Witte moment!

Hi, I'm Jake a 56 year old music addict and drug fiend who is finally starting to see the error of his ways!!! (too late now and no room for regrets!) And by Error of my ways, I mean I can see how I've ruined the taking of certain drugs by abusing them! So now they no longer work properly!  I'm 40 years in now! and I am going to see it through till the end! A true Taurus person, Stubborn as Fuck!
For people who have never taken drugs, I suggest you start NOW! It's a Spiritual thing, You have to Expand your mind to accommodate the knowledge that will set you free! If you are good at meditating, then that will do as good, if not better, I'm shit at meditating! So it's drugs for me!  It's all about truth, and don't be fooled into thinking you can learn this by reading it in a book or listening to someone speaking about it, YOU CAN'T,  It must come from within your self,  A Realisation, Only then will You know the Truth! 
I got into Punk around 1982 and not long after discovered Hardcore Punk, around 1993 I finally allowed myself to get into Rave and then got into mixing.
I got into Oldskool Hardcore and Jungle when I turned 50! better late than never I suppose. haha
