There are origin stories about musicians as there are grains of sand at the sea – too many, yet seemingly never enough. And just as it is with snowflakes, each grain is unique in shape and texture, and tells a different story. 

Desroi’s connection to music sometimes seem more like the relationship between a geologist and a grain of sand than the usual musician’s narrative would have us believe. For him, it’s not about the obvious things like harmonics, melodies, and simple arrangement. It’s about structure, the texture of clangor, the rhythm oscillating from each sonic wave and surface. 

With each track – be it in his studio or in the DJ booth – he time and again dives into the complexity of sound, exploring, experimenting on the possibilities and limits of sonic feasibility. Yet he manages not to drown in the vastness of musical theory. Each time he returns, he brings back a piece of sound to add to his collection. Not to keep it to himself, but to pass it on to the place where electronic music belongs – the dance-floor. 

Few manage to combine those levels of musical refinement with actual enjoyableness like Desroi does. His body of work as a producer, DJ, live act, and label head speaks volumes for itself – enticing in its apparent simplicity, mesmerizing through its depths at closer look, likable for its sheer genuineness. Just like a grain of sand.

Alessandro Adriani is a lot of things – producer, DJ, live performer and label owner of Mannequin Records – but above all he is a tireless music researcher.
The Berlin-based Italian goes further than your average “crate digger” in pursuit of information about sounds, styles, artists and record labels, devoting countless hours to unearthing the untold stories behind the music he loves, regardless of when it was made.

Adriani’s obsession has naturally shaped his other musical endeavors, not least Mannequin Records, the label he established over than a decade ago, voted label of the month by Resident Advisor in 2017.

Over the years, the imprint has won praise from buyers and critics alike for its open-minded blend of on-point reissues, archival collections and fresh productions. The intriguing, leftfield mixture of material on offer – think techno, electro, cold wave, industrial, EBM, minimal synth, and more – is naturally a reflection of Adriani’s wide-ranging and off-kilter tastes (as you’d discover if you had a quick flick through his vast and growing record collection).

Adriani is distinctively drawn towards the dark and obscure, and you can hear this approach amongst the long, drawn-out mixes of his similarly eclectic DJ sets. 

Alessandro has contributed outstanding mixes for Resident Advisor, FACT, Crack Magazine, Bleep, Cxema and Dekmantel. On the festival circuit he’s made appearances at Berghain, Tresor, Atonal, Boiler Room, Dekmantel, ADE, Dimensions, Neopop, Positive Education, Signal and more, together with his bi-monthly dates at Berghain and Panorama Bar, a residency he’s held from 2016 to 2020.


As a producer, Adriani’s output naturally draws on these inspirations, but also reflects his obsession with electronic hardware. 

Under his own name Adriani has built a reputation for delivering heavy, angular and forthright club cuts for such celebrated labels as L.I.E.S. Records, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Jealous God, Pinkman and - of course - Mannequin Records.

Synthesizers merge with synthesis and sound design to create a cinematic, futuristic, and spatial experience. Meet our new residents at Técnica 

We’re thrilled to welcome Charlie Caves and Bardo as official residents of Técnica. Their talent, musical vision, and connection to our collective make them a perfect fit.

Bardo
Bardo is the evolution of Borvac, a new interpretation of his sound rooted in UK techno while staying true to the essence of his previous version. Based in Berlin for the past two years, he has already played in clubs across the city, including Tresor, Watergate, About Blank, and many more. An artist with a strong focus on vinyl, he is also a resident at the well-known Matriz events in Granada, Spain. Becoming a regular at Técnica parties, he has dared to explore other musical styles such as Dubstep, UK Garage, and Bass Music, taking his creativity to another level.

Charlie Caves
A DJ from Ourense, Spain, Charlie Caves began his career in Madrid, playing at venues like Siroco and Utopía before moving to Berlin. Also known as Carlos’ Life, Carlito’s Way, and METHODRONE, he’s a dedicated digger with an ever-evolving sonic identity. In Berlin, he became a regular at Técnica parties, refining his craft and expanding his musical scope. His sets weave together different styles and BPMs while maintaining a distinct and personal touch—always carrying an element of surprise.



A special connection
When Charlie Caves and Bardo play together, it’s more than just music—it’s a seamless journey through sound. As two Galician souls, their b2b performances are a cascade of rhythm, emotion, and energy, challenging the dance floor with every track. Their bond, both on and off the decks, creates a space where passion flows freely, and their creativity knows no bounds. While their b2b sets are magic, we trust in both of their individual musical visions, and we’re excited to have them explore both solo and collaborative sets as residents.
