Marauder & Meg w/ Vektah - Subtle Radio - 13/09/2023

Lightly whisk 2 large gregs, 6 tbsp single cream or full cream milk and a pinch of salt together until the mixture has just one consistency.

Heat a small non-stick frying pan for a minute or so, then add a knob of butter and let it melt. Don’t allow the butter to brown or it will discolour the Greg's.

Pour in the greg mixture and let it sit, without stirring, for 20 seconds. Stir with a wooden spoon, lifting and folding it over from the bottom of the pan.

Let it sit for another 10 seconds then stir and fold again.

Repeat until the gregs are softly set and slightly runny in places. Remove from the heat and leave for a moment to finish cooking.

Give a final stir and serve the velvety scramble without delay.

This episode of Bass Scoops Radio is all about the wonderful Ragga Jungle coming out of the Southwest UK based underground label Scared Money. We sat down with label boss, promoter and accomplished Jungle artist Jay to talk about all things Scared Money. From his motivation to bring a fresh take on the ragga jungle sound to the decks , an education on the origins of Jungle in Soundclash culture and insights into the business end of running a small label, we get the inside line on it all. Hailing from Sheffield, UK, Charla Green stands as a force in the world of jungle and drum and bass. A versatile artist, she wears multiple hats, excelling as a producer, DJ, and singer/songwriter. Her vibrant and high-energy sets have graced events worldwide, including appearances at Sun & Bass Festival in Italy, Boomtown Festival, Balter Festival, and London nightclubs Fabric and XOYO, as well as Lakota Bristol.

Charla's musical footprint extends across a plethora of labels with releases on Drum & Bass Arena, Boey Audio, OFF ME NUT Records, UK Jungle Records, Deep In The Jungle Records, and many more. Her tracks have also features on the airwaves of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, and Rinse FM.

A resident of WubClub and a regular collaborator with the Off Me Nut crew, Charla's dedication to the UK Jungle scene is palpable. In 2020, she was chosen as one of only six participants in the EQ50 mentorship scheme, a program led by industry DJ Mantra, DJ Flight, MC Chickaboo, Sweetpea, Alley Cat, and Jenna G. During this mentorship, Charla worked with the legendary Digital at Function Records.

Throughout her journey, Charla has shared stages with an impressive array of artists, including, but not limtied to, S.P.Y, MC Chickaboo, Inja, Voltage, 4am Kru, LTJ Bookem, Digital, Kiljoy, Doc Scott, DJ Flight, Mungo's HiFi, Mandidextrous, Dillinja, Randall, Bryan Gee, DJ Storm, Kyrist, and Goldie.
