Mark Pringle is a British pianist and composer based in Berlin, working at the intersection of various forms of composed and improvised music.

Julian's most recent CD 'Tonadas' (www.editionrecords.com) features his quartet with Ivo Neame piano, Sam Lasserson bass & James Maddren Drums. This is his 2nd quartet CD and he is due to record a 3rd in Spring 2020.

In the 30 years since emerging onto the London jazz scene with the legendary Loose Tubes, Julian has toured extensively on the continent with the likes of Hermeto Pascoal, Dave Holland, Phronesis, Django Bates, John Scoffield, Carla Bley - to name a few. However, these days he's been focusing on his own quartet.

Julian has been described by The Guardian recently as "...a gifted artist currently in his sophisticated prime" and his quartet, by the London Evening Standard, as “European Jazz at its finest, blending Spanish roots, Nordic space & sound with one of the brightest and most talented British bands around.”  

Julian Argüelles is an English bandleader, musician, composer with an international reputation for the highest quality musicianship as well as award winning, innovative and inspiring new music. Whilst he is undoubtedly English and a jazz musician, his music reflects both English and Spanish roots as well as South African, classical and folk influences. He is currently Professor of Jazz Saxophone at the Institute of Jazz, KUG, Graz, Austria.
