Casual Sam came together in the summer of 2014 at the prestigious Florida State University. When it came time to graduate and all of our friends went off to get real jobs, we decided that cubicles are very un-chill. So we set off on our musical journey to spread love and energy as much as we can, to people just like you!

Mix 2/3's dubby roots reggae with 1/3 high octane ska, throw in a dash of punk rock and a pickle juice chaser and you have Trial By Stone. The product of what would happen if the Clash and the Skatalites got drunk one night and had an illegitimate baby. With Buck Lemons on guitar and vocals, Chris Rothenberg on trombone and vocals, Jes Bradley on drums, and James "Bassnuts" on bass, Trial By Stone brings high energy, horn driven, hard hitting, bass thumping melodies to the stage guaranteed to get the body moving. Rapidly turning heads all over the South East, the versatility of the bands sound is represented by the many different bands they have provided support for. Sharing the stage with reggae giants like Burning Spear, Pato Banton, Yellow Man, John Browns Body, Dubconscious, Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad, Tribal Seeds, Ballyhoo, the Supervillans, and Passafire; Ska elites such as the Toasters and Cedric Brooks and Kevin Batchelor of the Skatalites; festival bands like the News Master Sounds, Toubab Krewe, Zach Deputy, and Pimps of Joytime; or punk heroes the Bastard Suns; Trial By Stone is always on the move, hustling like raindrops, bringing the positive vibes of reggae music to a stage near you. Founded in February of 2016, we're an independent, variety label from Tallahassee, FL. We want to open up competitive production and promotional services to as many local artists as possible, and we want to promote community and progress while we do. We know that Tallahassee artists are hungry to compete in a world market. We're hungry to help.
