The chord progression that runs throughout the song is inspired by Lovers in a Dangerous Time by Bruce Cockburn. The song is built around one riff that changes slightly during each section of the song, with the different drum parts providing the change necessary to keep the song interesting. 

The sound of the song started to take on a resemblance to the song No Cigar by Millencollin, as well as the pre-chorus resembling the chorus to the song Meet Me Halfway by Black Eyed Peas, unintentional as it is. This further developed into my tribute/spin on the pop punk soundtracks to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video games, hence the title.

The solo during the bridge section resembles the solo from Limelight by Rush as well as parts of the guitar breakdown sections of Burnin’ For You by Blue Oyster Cult, to add a late 70’s-early 80’s flavor to the song. 

This song was notated in Guitar Pro, with the MIDI/RSE audio files exported & mixed in Garage Band. Additional editing was done in Garage Band, then sheet music was altered in Guitar Pro to reflect this when necessary.
