An old mailman in his dying hometown reflects ...

Her smile is so sweet
Sure to make you think
You should patronize this soda shop
And buy an ice cold drink

A bottle in her hand
I see her every day
On the wall of the old soda shop
Where she slowly fades away

But It has been so long
Since the shop had closed its doors
And the girl with the bottle
Hardly noticed anymore

I walk these streets
Of an ancient urban sprawl
Carrying the mail
From when, I can't recall

Cars still drive on Main Street
Though there's not much left to see
Old spirits and old bones
of the shops that used to be

This town's heart still beats
Though it struggles every day
With wounds as yet unhealed
And scars on full display

I walk the dead end streets
Of forgotten urban sprawl
An echo breaking silence
From my boots with each footfall

And part of me is missing.
Part of me is lost
As when summer turns to autumn
I feel the coming frost

Stars that shine at night
Disappear in morning light
As yesterday slips away
I'm holding on with all my might

Delivering the mail

Another old track from a 'concept' Album I did a few years ago.  This never got finished so this can been thought of as an unfinished work that one day I will re vamp. But listing to it now I fell back in love with it. hope you like it too.
