Pathwey presents ‘Release’ — the second in a series of two-track EPs. Featuring the ethereal vocal stylings of Moondrop, ‘Release' aims to deliver a message of healing and evoke a sense of hope and inspiration. The EP was conceived during a recording session in 2018 at the foot of the Hawaiian volcano, Kīlauea, the day before a massive eruption shook the island. The ‘Release’ EP reflects on this monumental initiation and is an homage to the immense power of nature and the cycles of life and death.

Opening with “Carry Away”, waves of lush vibrations and emotive bass frequencies carry Moondrop’s potent vocals across a vivid soundscape. Her powerful lyrics take the center stage as they call upon the listener to connect with the healing energy of Mother Earth and recognize our innate connection with all living things. This compelling transmission serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and urges the listener to embrace the power of positive change.

Intelligent grooves and elegant soundscapes gracefully carry us into the EP’s title track. Delicate melodies weave through extra-dimensional sound design as Moondrop's voice transmits an ambiance of celestial tones. Inviting the listener to shed old patterns of stagnation, “Release” asks us to let go of the things that no longer serve us and progress in our evolution into higher states of being.

Exploring unique interpretations of Future Garage infused with IDM and Neuro Bass, the ‘Release’ EP showcases Pathwey’s depth as a producer and Moondrop’s elegance as a vocalist. Together, the two offer a deep expression of healing and self-transformation from the heart and soul. With its evocative themes and captivating compositions, ‘Release’ hopes to inspire listeners amidst the many challenges and obstacles on the path of spiritual growth.

24 instrumental compositions explore themes of transformation, alienation, and existential anxiety through the lens of lo-fi aesthetics and dark trap. The warmth of Roland's analog synthesizers contrasts with the cold absurdity of modern existence — like Kafka's characters trapped in endless bureaucratic corridors, sounds get stuck between the walls of a tiny room.
The album is a diary of sleepless nights where the boundaries of reality blur, a human transforms into sound, and sound becomes a document of internal trial. Recorded on obsolete equipment in an impossible space, it becomes a testament to how creativity is born not despite limitations, but because of them.

LostinSound.org is excited to premiere the @DevinKroesmusic X @ResonantLanguage collaboration "Misty Peaks" from the forthcoming @chillagerecords compilation album Crunksauce Vol. 5  which features 20 different producers' creations covering a diverse range of genres, including artists such as Wu Wei, The Digital Connection, Spoken Bird, Secret Recipe and more. 

"Misty Peaks" is reminiscent of an early Emancipator production, but with a full dose of trip-and-drip-hop. Devin Kroes' reverberating acoustic guitar swirls in and around psy-breaks built by Colorado's Resonant Language.  The result is something beautifully cinematic and gripping that pours out slowly from the speaker. 

Chillage has been supporting the releases of west coast bass musicians for a number of years, and this fifth installment of their Crunksauce series was the first time they opened submissions to the public. Tunes from established producers and a handful of fresh faces fill the 19 track release. Chillage is releasing three tracks each week in various outlets before the March 29 official release date.
