Jakob Mäder needs no introduction, but let’s say a few words about him for those who were away in one of our colonies in Mars or Saturn for the last few years: With acclaimed appearances on vital outlets such as Frank Music, Nothing Is Real, Mister T. Records, theBasement Discos, Romantica, Midnight Operators, and his very own Constant Change, the skilled German artist is on his way to stardom. His impeccable and unmistakable productions allied with flawless and upbeat DJ sets put his career on the way to achieving even greater goals.
 
His brand-new adventure, another incursion on Constant Change, is so full of possibilities that Jakob has ingeniously decided to split it into two parts: The first, featuring Original Mix and Drum Tool, came to life this June. The second, presenting Slow Mix and Ambient Mix, is scheduled to be published in July.

The version we were solicited to review/premiere develops its magic in 111 BPM. Yes, it is basically its original counterpart speeded down. The main elements are all there: Piano chords, a rolling bassline, and a bunch of melodies. But it is impressive how the message sounds completely different. Jakob’s idea of delivering various versions of a single piece is proof of his creativity. A Part III would be definitely something. Challenge accepted? 😉

Vassilis Papadatos was born and raised on the island of Zakynthos and has been living and working permanently in Athens since 1999. He is a graphic designer, art director for magazines and trade exhibitions, illustrator, photographer, and audio alchemist. In the mid-1990s, he worked as a radio producer, while in recent years he curates and hosts the podcast series "Sculpting in Time" on Mixcloud — an avant-garde sonic landscape where music becomes a tool for introspection and the sculpting of consciousness. "Sculpting in Time" explores the possibilities of electronic music through experimental soundscapes, field recordings, and cinematic atmospheres, creating a distinctive mosaic of auditory experiences. At the same time, he performs as a DJ in selected bars and venues in Athens and as a resident at Fade Radio, curating eclectic sets that range from ambient and electronica to krautrock and jazz funk.

Jakob Mäder is a Stuttgart based DJ and producer who also performs live. His musical interest spans across different genres: ambient, disco, house, acid, and sometimes even techno inspired music.

Together with his crew Midnight Service he organises events with artists such as Johannes Albert, Philipp Schultheis or Panthera Krause, just to name a few. 

Ranging from reduced ambient to classic house inspired deep house or experimental breakbeat productions, his output as a producer reflects his eclectic taste as a DJ. Besides crafting his very own tracks, cheerful disco tracks result from his artistic work every now and then. 

He started his own label Constant Change in 2021.
