Louk - Volume 30 (July 2025)

Burst was a fortnightly dance event that ran at Stirling University between 1992 and 1994. It was held on the university campus and populated by a crowd of 400 students and 
guests from the town. The resident DJ's for the whole two years were James Brolly and Bhaskar Dandona. 

At the time of Burst's inception the original incarnation of progressive house was rearing its head. "Passion" by Gat Decor and Leftfield's "Not Forgotten" were circling on 
white label turning the UK scene on it's head. Rave was being replaced in the clubs with this bubbling baseline music with obligatory euphoric breakdowns. 
Nearby city Glasgow was a mecca for this new sound as not only did it host Slam at the Arches every friday but it was also the home of the biggest label of the time Limbo.
Over the two years Burst ran for both crowd and DJ's tuned it to what it meant to be upfront and underground. So much so that towards the end of its run groups of people 
were attending from as far afield as Northern Ireland.

Guest DJ's during the two years included the Havanna DJ's, Vertigo, Stuart MacMillan (Slam) but the sound that did the most damage to the minds and hearts of the loyal 
Madhead Possee as the crowd became known was that of the two residents.

Burst Volume three is the final mixtape the DJ's produced under the Burst banner. Enjoy the two distinct sounds of James Brolly and Bhaskar Dandona , 
two young men who remain close friends to this day.
