For episode 059 I wanted to create a hybrid set up and challenge myself to something different. I used two digital decks and two cdj's to play this set utilizing four decks at times and adding a ton of percussion samples, remix sets and stems throughout the entire set along with some of my favorite tracks. This was alot of fun. Not a perfect mix by any means but the amount of concentration was intense at times! Especially melting a little bit! Hope you enjoy!

Honored to once again pull records from my collection to provide the morning vibes for Viva's Breakfast Jam series (streaming on Twitch every Saturday from 9-12pm Pacific). For this set, we embark on a 3 hour journey of downtempo, chillout, tripout, and experimental vibes from artists: Art of Noise, Spacetime Continuum, Single Cell Orchestra, Orbital, The Orb, Aphex Twin, and various badorb releases.

There are times when your ass needs to cash the checks your mouth wrote. After 17 years digital, it was time to mix an all-vinyl set, thanks to Brit's 90s black light birthday rave. There were train wrecks but it was fun and a massive adrenaline rush when I landed a mix right. (This is not the live set, but the test mix with the same rekkids, recorded at home.)

Special thanks to: Wesley Holmes, Chris Buening, & Mark O'Brien for vinyl gifts played here, to Kadeejah Streets for finding turntables for me, to the Wonder Twinz & Black Velveteen for encouragement. CARAVAN is inspired by the true-life historic Silk Road that wound its way through Europe, Asia, and Africa. Along this route, there was a mingling of cultures and backgrounds that provided a platform for them to interact, come together, and contribute to a newly created global market. World music is genre-fluid & promotes inclusivity, accessibility, and overall respect for one another. ❤️‍🔥 Sunday nights in Seattle means one thing: Flammable. For 30 years, Flamm has been our friends&fam tradition of house music to close out the weekend. Weekly dance church, served hot.

This past winter solstice 2023, I played a fun set at Flamm that I decided to whip up into an otter-style 4-hour House buffet, including many tracks I didn't get to play that night. Bon appetit! ❤️‍🔥

My Ritual

I was born an audiophile and have always been listening. When I was a young boy my safety blanket was a pair of old headphones and a gain knob within reach during nap times and still is after over four decades today. Theres nothing more comforting than sub sonic bass frequencies and a bouncing mid range sprinkled with a melodic high end to soothe any and every emotion. When it comes to music and audio in general, it has a way of carrying us off and elevating our spirits every single time we close our eyes and just listen. Tribal rhythm and drums is where it all started for me growing up as a local northwest native american. My tribal roots run deep and I incorporate my heritage into every set I play by layering in ethnomusic percussion, in a sense grounding my sound back to where it all began for me as a child. I am a fan of trippy, weird, spacey sounds and thats probably why I love sound design so much. Every chance I get, I am going to create a soundscape that takes you on an emotional and spiritual journey. I play music in hopes to make an immediate connection with my listener and help them to find ways to make a deeper connection within themselves. Music is my weapon against all of the chaos and animosity in this world that we live in. I hope to only elevate you while you give me your ears.
